Scam trying to collect old discharged or past statute of limitations debt

I swear, Portfolio Recovery doesn't give up!! They call every morning, every evening, I add their numbers to my auto reject list, they can't legally call me due to statute of limitations....If ANYONE ever actually talks to them, do no use the words yes or no in any conversation! They will splice the recordings to make it sound like you agreed to make a payment, and that will restart the statute of limitations to day one. It's 4 years here in California. I told them I wasn't me and that I didn't live at this phone number anymore....they STILL call!

This was about the 5th or 6th call I'd gotten from them, but I answered this one, thinking it may be the a.c. repair company looking to schedule service. Person on other end said something unintelligible, said the call may be recorded, and asked for someone I'd never heard of. I asked him to repeat his information, said exactly the same thing, I told him I have no idea who he was looking for, he said "I guess I have a wrong number then." and hung up. Haven't heard from them since. Hopefully I won't again, and I'm relieved they weren't trying to resurrect an old debt. Nope, some jerk gave someone a wrong number, or they were hunting down someone from many years ago who used to have this number, which I've had for 9 years now.

No money for these crooks

I answered and it sounded like a recorded voice. She said "Hi my name is Hannah, and I'm here on a recorded line. I am a hearing administrator. Can you Hear me? Then the line hangs up.

Multiple, daily calls. They use different numbers

T/C from this number, no message, old old debt, long ago resolved, simply don't answer call, then block number and delete.  They buy up old debts, for pennies on the dollar, then harass the H--- out of folks to intimidate them.  I use a good caller id system and just don't answer calls from numbers I don't know.  Pinheads who can't do real work, are working for them.

Best option, don't answer, then block that number, never answer their calls at all!
