A call with no detectable pick up from someone.  Is this legal if you've submitted to the DNS list?

Called, left no msg except several seconds where background conversation can be heard (obviously a call center). What the heck is "US NMA"?

It is likely that this is a 'live' number harvesting program; you answer, the program tallies you as a valid number, then sells it.
Reporting it is likely to be unfruitful.
1) Don't pick up numbers you don't recognize.
2) Use a VOIP.  Block those numbers.
This same practice is used by the supposed numbers 402-982-0819 and 202-495-7164.

It was the same message as one I got a few days ago - 402-982-0819 - only from a different number - 702-705-5066.
"Hello?"
"I'm...uh..sorry...I believe I have the wrong number...I apologize for this."

The first time they called (the 402) I didn't realize what was going on, and just said, 'K....', but this time I was ready to see if it was a recording.
I answered not with 'Hello' but with a whistle, because no one can tell they have the wrong number with a whistle, and it gave me the same message, but in the middle I kept screaming, 'F!@* YOU B*#&^' to see if it would respond...it didn't....
My goodness. These are creept.

I am having the same problem! Twice now I've received a call with the response "I'm...uh..sorry...I believe I have the wrong number...I apologize for this."

The first time I blew it off; this time I recognized the voice - exact same. It must be a recording.

For that reason, today I did "*69" (I don't have caller ID) and got the 702-705-5066 number. I don't know what number they called from last week because I didn't think to do the trace-call function.

These jerks just called me in Sacramento, too. I say "Hello", and after a few seconds they say "Uhhh, I'm sorry, I think I got the wrong number." These deceptive [***] are just dialing every number in the book to see which ones answer.

This is very weird. That so many people around the country are getting this call. I'm in the seattle area.

I just got a call from this number and I did not pick up, I have caller ID and it shows that it is from US NMA.  Does anyone know what this is?

It looks like this company has just started their calling compain. I received their call a few minutes ago, and blocked this number immediatelly.

Started getting calls this afternoon from this number. Didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message.

Received a phone call from US NMA @ 702 705 5066 - called immediately stated: "sorry I think I have the wrong number."  Voice sounded artificially distorted.  Strange.

Just got the call a minute ago but I didn't pick up. I'm from Kent, WA. They must be doing their rounds in WA!

Same thing happened to me the other day, the 402-982-0819 number called and i got the same recording you did, then today the 702-705-5066 number called but i didnt answer it.

I've received three of these calls in a one hour period.  I'm in Renton

Just received call from this number.  Didn't anaswer it, and no message was left.  Blocking all further calls from this source.

my mother in law received this call about an hour ago when she was visiting, and then we got the same thing a few minutes later, and realized the same weird recorded message.  I am sure we can both expect more from solicitors.  Don't answer.

I have had this call twice in the past two months.  Same 702-705-5066 with caller ID US NMA.  This freaky sounding guy with a wrong number script sounds like a low quality voip call, maybe skype?
