How do I get these [***] to stop calling?  Twice today from 2 different #s (the other was from 415-803-3029).

Received yet another call from this number so I decided to do some digging.  It is not a telemarketer (most of them do actually follow the rules) but rather a scammer.  Pre-recorded messages.. especially ones that do not identify themselves or provide a phone number to return a call are highly illegal.  A call to the FCC and I discovered when caught the scammer is fined around $16000 per call.  Hence the reason it is important to report them.  To do that...  Record the number, the time they called (date/time).  Call the FTC (online is FTC.Gov) at 877-382-4357 and you will be asked your information as well as the information to identify the call. They are aware of this number and are working on it but its not an immediate thing.  Everytime you receive another all... call FTC and report it again.  Also if the phone number changes but the offer is similar to make you think its the same scam.. report that as well so the FTC keeps up to date on the information.

Automated call regarding a security system.  I pressed 2 to opt out.

I did some research.  2gig is actually an equipment manufacturer just like GE, Honeywell, etc.  They make and sell equipment to distributors.  The distributors resell it to alarm companies.  It's the alarm companies that hire/outsource the telemarketers.  Best bet would be to contact the alarm company directly.  Complaining to 2gig would be useless...

You're right about the government. In fact, they deliberately compiled the DNC list with every intention of selling to pseudo-charities + telemarketers. (In theory, a charity can make an exception to the DNC list, so "legally" the government is taking advantage of this by giving the "fake" charities our numbers.) Boy do I with I had never put my name on the list! There's no good excuse for their behavior.

have received many calls from Las vegas with a prize i've won. called them back today and was told my name would be removed within 72 hours. will wait and see.

Did you ever stop to think that the caller might be trying to see if you already have a security syster,  They may come calling at your front door when no one is home.........

First call, I answered, the guy acted like it was a bad connection, something wrong with phone.
I called back, got an out of area recording.
I wonder if it's a scam tying to get a return call, so can run up huge charge on my phone bill.
Police didn't help, phone co. said I wouldn't be charged for out of area please try again recording.
3 other numbers called me today, I turned off phone, didn't answer, no VM, so it just rings til they hang up.

Quit calling me!!! I do NOT want to buy whatever you are selling!

Did not answer the call from this number.  They did not leave a voicemail.  My caller id listed the number as a Las Vegas number.

A robocall from Las Vegas about being selected to receive a wireless "free" GE home security and emergency alarm system.  The installation might be free but I bet that long-term service contract is very
expensive!

Press 1 and you get some jerk wanting your phone # (the one they just called.)  I said I was on the do not call list and he said I would keep getting calls from them unless I gave him my phone number.  When I said I would report them he made a noise like "ooooooh" making fun. How can we stop these type calls?

425-658-8939 is the new number they are using, these are account hackers, and criminals. they need to be turned in.
