This is a number for WEST ASSET MANAGEMENT.  They are bill collectors for defunct student loans that have been given up.  They are bottom feeders.  Ignore them.  They also use the phone number 703-398-0017

Call my cellphone several times a day.  Talked to them once, very very rude.

Got a call from this number today.  It is West Asset Management.  They use a lot of different numbers.  Did not speak to these people because I have no outstanding student loans.
The name showed up numerically as 8885600054.

Received call from this # this a.m.; the police say the caller was from West Asset Management (WMA). The caller asked me to verify my Social Security Number; he said he was "contracted by the United States Government" and it was about a student-loan -- we have no such loans.  NEVER give out your SS# over phone, even if their callback answering machine tells you to, and don't "correct" the # if they read you one and it's wrong.  It is possible that these people have a real person they are looking for, who shares my first and last name (I have run into this), and they are perhaps dialing every phone # associated with that name, but if so, they hit the wrong one with me!  Nasy tactic; very upsetting; might also be a scam -- sure felt like one!
