We also received a call from 703-398-1528 caller ID said Woodbridge VA.  We don't answer unknown callers, as by far the majority are junk - so it went to our voicemail.  They didn't leave a message.  Thanks to others on this site who told us what this is all about.

Just got what appeared to be a robocall blathering on about TV and a back brace. But, when I yelled at it, using language that sweet little old ladies on Medicare aren't supposed to use, it hung up. Not so robo as it wanted to appear, apparently. I answered only because I've recently been in northern Virginia and have distant relatives there. Now I know. It would appear that this outfit should be reported to the Medicare fraud line, because I'll bet it's billing Medicare for 100s of these things - and getting away with it.

I had two calls, back to back, one said it was from Gold Canyon, the next one said it was from Woodbridge, VA... different phone numbers for each one but they came in back to back. They are now on our blocked caller list since the do not call list doesn't seem to be effective as it once was!

DO NOT PICK UP THE PHONE!!!!   If you pick up the phone you will get even MORE calls.....I have done the research and talked to several people......report the calls to the FTC not the FCC.......they won't actually do anything (like your average government employee) but at least you are bothering them and it is their job to deal with this.......the more you bother them the more likely they will get sick of it and actually do something......FTC.gov...........TELL EVERYBODY!........

    Dear Fellow Posters:
WHY, Why, Why do you folks bother to answer a number that you don't know (because a lot of you will or have)?  Why, when you do answer, get mad because it is a scam call?  Why do you call back?  You get pissed off at receiving these calls, but, you answer or call back to give them a clue that you do have a working number that they can have fun spoofing with you!
Then you get mad at the FCC, the DNC, the phone companies, the government and President Obama for these calls and accuse them of being 'ineffective' or 'a joke' for not doing anything about them.
Understand that the DNC is working or you would be getting calls from any and every LEGITIMATE bank, credit card, charity, medical, loan, department store, and fundraiser you could think of--but, you don't because they are following the guidelines of the DNC.
Just imagine, if most of the spam/unknown calls we all receive would be ignored (resisting the temptation to answer to 'get revenge', so to speak)--it could work wonders, don't you think?  Of course, that means that sites like this wouldn't be needed.
Is that such a bad thing?
So, come on, folks!  Stop answering unfamiliar numbers, don't call back (it's usually a waste of time, most of the time, is it not?), and get on with the parts of your life that you can do something with.
Don't allow spam/crank calls/and the like steal precious time from you--otherwise you are giving them permission to do so.
        DO. NOT. ANSWER!!!!

P.S. I know that this will be ignored by most because there will be more posts complaining about these calls.
         (Sigh)  I tried. :-/

P.S.S. Yes, I have posted the same message (and a variation, thereof) on other 'Spam #s' websites--hope to get
my experience and message across. DO. NOT. ANSWER!!!!

To Sophrosyne, I totally agree with you. With few exceptions, there is no reason to answer these calls...nothing to be gained and much to lose. You covered that well. And it's so easy to blame it on the government. That seems the popular, feel-good thing to do these days. But it's such a cop-out. A phone blocker (inexpensive and so worth every penny)** would greatly help, plus a strict adherence of not picking up the phone whenever a number is unrecognized, Legitimate callers leave messages and/or call back. **(I have Phone Tray, but there are many on the market and most are easy and actually help!!) The phone will ring only once, the name will be announced, and will also show up on your computer screen) and then the caller is zapped. That will happen every time for numbers you have blocked. You can even block entire area codes for the jerks who have a phone bank of different numbers from the same area code.
So people, in short, do not pick up the phone for these scammers; do not press a number; do not call back, and  get a phone blocker.  Is this counter attack perfect? No. Is it helpful? Absolutely! You will lower your blood pressure, feel like you are back in control, and take your life back all at the same time. What could be wrong with THAT?!

Recorded female voice said they were returning my call about the back brace I had seen advertised on TV.  She said to press 1 to be connected to  live rep or press 2 to stop receiving these calls.  I pressed 2 but the recording said that they would connect me to a live rep and to hang on because it would "only take a few minutes before I was speaking to a live representative." I hung up and will file a complaint with the FTC

I got home to find a call from this number today. It said "cellular call", without a call origin. A woman left a long & rambling message about belonging to the same church I do (I don't belong to any house of worship), & how she was in "dire trouble" because her landlord wants to kick her out tomorrow. When she said "I know a good Christian like you wants to help", I erased the message.
