Display said "Woodbridge VA" Did not pick up but will report illegal caller to national Do Not Call list.

Received scammer call from (703)-398-1528 Level 3 Communications Landline in Dale City, VA on Wed. 12/10/14 ("No Name" on Caller ID) & didn't leave a voicemail - my phone is unlisted & this is harassment - I never answer unwanted scammer calls & reported to DONOTCALL.GOV. Message to scammers: DO NOT CALL.

of course they sell the list... how else do you think the legitimate companies know not to call you? the  scammers and robobcalls  don't look at a list they just autodial millions of numbers and  redial the ones they get a "hit" on.  Why do they continue to dial the ones that have said no, that's the real puzzle. It's never made sense to me they'd waste the effort on numbers that refused.  But  ATT  called me for 10 years trying to "win" me back  until I threatened them with  legal harrassment charges.

Just got the same call.  Never asked for any info. Good to have confirmation from others that this is a scam.

Just received a call on old phone with no caller id.  Same message, calling back re: info I had requested. Said to press 2  to have number removed, did that and it took me to a live person.  Requested I be put on do not call list and was told 'no, I will not do that' and line went dead.  Very frustrating.

I also do not have caller ID.  I've been on the DNC from day one and have renewed my number on the DNC site over and over again.  Got a call this morning that this is my requested return call for a back brace.  I never made any such call.  I have reported  calls like this over and over to the FTC but the scammers keep calling.  The Do Not Call List is a joke.

I (again) received the call today that they were returning my call about the back brace I had seen on tv and will be covered by my health insurance. I pressed 1 and told the guy that there is nothing wrong with my freaking back. I told him to never call me again. Add this call to "Carmen" from cardholder services, and the foreigner wanting to fix my computer.

"This is a return call for the commercial you saw on tv...... back brace"  Robocall, I hung up

Except what happens when a friend's mother 's calls you to report a medical problem with your friend? And how is the DNC suppose to work if we don't report the abuse?

Received a call with automated message.  Pushed #1 to talk to someone....asked to speak to a manager.  Woman said she was from India and I should have some respect.  KNOW idea where that came from but she said I wanted to talk to manager because of her accent!  Are you freaking kidding me????   I was asking to simply be removed from call list.  She insisted tha I GAVE them this info...she started yelling at ME!!!  Hung up.

The friend's mother will not be blocked. The only numbers that are blocked are the ones you enter into the block-command of your phone blocker.

Not everyone has caller ID. Until and unless I answer the phone, I have no way of knowing who is on the other end. It could be my spouse's physician calling with the results of his latest tests, or a reminder of an appointment he may have forgotten about. It could be one of our children calling about an emergency.

Got same call stating that it was a return call from back brace that I seen on tv- said to push #1 to be connected to rep, and push #2 to be removed from call ist- I pushed #2 and was immediately connected to someone trying to give me a sales pitch- for God's sake- they use drone strikes for everything else- can't they start targeting these [***]

No matter how many times you hit 2 to opt out, it goes to a real person. I have told them, in not so nice language, to remove us and that we never requested a return call. Don't have caller ID to ignore these types of phone calls either.  We are on the DNC list but still get at least 2 to 3 calls a week from scammers.

Fact: The Do Not Call list is NOT a call blocker!
The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call

Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list.
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers.  After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret!

Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls, such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.

Fact:  Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker.
 Google is your friend.
