I have gotten all of the above, same tactic, when I ask what company they represent, she said mam I only have what I told you, I have heard this voice before, but she gave a different company name, I hung up because she became confrontational.

They say I owe a doctor bill and is going to sue me. Can they get a judgement against me on medical bills?

Called several times in a row. I finally answered and the lady informed me she was calling on behalf of ADT. I politely informed her this number was on the Do No Call registry.

They continue call me pretty much every day and leave a message to call me back.  I am not calling them back.  I own no debts.  I would like to block this number somehow.  This is so annoying. Can you help me get rid of this person or whoever is calling me.

First off regardless of what the bill is regarding they cannot threaten you with anything Fair Debt Collection Practices Act forbids it. The fact that they are threatening you at all can get you out of paying the debt if there is any because they could lose their license.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

"The fact that they are threatening you at all can get you out of paying the debt if there is any because they could lose their license"  Since not all states require a debt collector license, then you cannot make a blanket statement like that and be correct.  A better statement to make is that the FDCPA gives you the ability to sue them and collect money.  The debt will not go away simply because this company violated the law.

They call me all the time. Sometimes I go days with no call other days I get multiple. I'm pretty sure they're a legit debt collector. I have medical bills unpaid. But I'm poor as *$&$/. Paying would mean not eating for me. I'll ignore them til I'm rich :).

That's probably why they call. Even after 7 years the debt can still exist. But more than likely they are a third party collections agency, trying to collect on old debt.

They keep on calling while i am sleep..... Never answer phone when i call back...

they called my house at 8:57 am this morning while my husband and I were sleeping.  my husband has to work a 12 hour night shift tonight, so that meant he was up all night last night to sleep for work. he didn't appreciate being woke up

Who and why do they keep calling me

caller calls my phone several times per day and never leave a message...when I call back there is a message stating that I've reached PMAB..Have no clue what they are calling for but I wish they would stop
