calls and says you can get $3,000 if your give him your checking account #

I haven't answered the call, but when I try to return it, it say's the number is disconnected. What in the heck is this?

I keep getting a call from this number and when I answer it hangs up.  So, then when I return the call it tells me the number is no longer in service.  The calls all came in with in the same day.

Called and asked to speak with Mr & Mrs So and So.  I told him I am the Mrs.  He asked if my husband and I have over $10,000 in credit card debt.  I told him no.

I received a call saying they are from the United States Government and because I pay taxes the government is going to refund me $500 a month for the next 6 months.  These people knew my address and was calling my direct # at work for the last couple of days but would never leave a message.  They asked for my bank name and account and went on to tell me they were going to transfer the money at that time and that the information would go to my bank manager and I would have to go to the bank and give them a check # they would give me to withdraw the money.  I started questioning them and ended up hanging up in their face.  Called the # back and would not ring.  They had a foreign accent and it was very hard to understand them but I heard enough to know it was a scam!!!
