Fraternal Order of Police from Houston TX.  THEY ARE NOT LEGITIMATE.  THEY ARE SCAMMERS WANTING DONATIONS.  Giving money to the police is the LAST MFKING THING I'LL DO.

The caller left a message on my answering machine saying, "Is (my first name) there as if he knew me personally. I did not like it.

scumbags claiming to be FOP looking for donations.  nothing goes to the police - these guys are scum.

Did not answer; they did not leave message.
Same number as 4-9-2015 call when CID display showed "I" (the letter I)

This "I" also called me 3-27-2015 using number 713-955-5682.
Now I can block this primary.

I got that one just  now...put a police track on it....left a message on my phone sounded like a friend of mine ...from the same zip....called me by name. ...I'm going off the grid

"Fraternal Order of Police (State Troopers - neither org actually makes these fundraiser calls - so don't be fooled). I asked him if he was aware that police and/or similar organizations DO NOT solicit over the phone. He kept harassing asking me over and over asking me if I wanted to donate."

Be darned if I'm going to donate to any charity over the phone, much less one half way across the country.
I picked up, said nothing 'playing chicken' and they hung up first.

These folks aren't even a charity since they take more than what they collect for whatever organization they are calling for.

Another Note from that other site: "We are told on the news that there are no police forces in TX that call to raise money. I do not live in Houston even. It is probably a scam." - this same number came up as a Fresno, CA ID.

And also from my own experience they came up from Lancaster PA - different area codes but same seven digit number - they must really be twits.

Got a call from these folks soliciting for the benefit of the police, and I asked him to repeat the name of the org.  He started back with "This is Xxxx Yxxx with the (can't even remember the org name)".  Then he immediately goes back to saying stuff like "The police need your help" "Your support is important" -- and it works for keeping you from getting their actual name.  I insisted that there are lots of organizations that do the same thing you are doing and I need to understand more about it.  Then he said, "would you like to speak to my manager?"  I said, "I guess if that's the only way to learn more about your organization."  He hung up.  --> Remember, you need to know stuff about these callers, and they are required to answer you when you ask:  Where are you calling from?  How much of the donation actually goes to the organization?

Just called my home phone. The guy asked to come to my house and give me a [***]! They really are from the Houston Fraternal Order of Police Officers. This is how they make money for their annual picnic!

Thepolice or any law agency for that matter will never call you asking for charity it is against the law. You can report these numbers but I doubt that they can handle all complaints..

There was a man that called; he asked for me and I asked who was calling and he hung up.
I'm guessing they are either checking to see if someone is home or it might be a solicitation.
I wouldn't have answered except I have family and friends in that area code

Be carful there are a lot of scams in the area with all the floods down there.

Fraternal Order of Police call, started with computer voice asking "if <my first name> was there."  I donate via the 100 Club and then only by mail.

Love the fact that my call blocker can hang up on callers based on their name or any portion of it.  As well as numbers, area codes, and has both a white and black list so it pretty much ignores everyone except the people and companies I really do business with.  Plus it logs all entries with date and time and allows searches for repeat offenders.

Added both the number and the name since I have received several prior calls from this number 7139555682 with the same single letter name "I".

Called and left message which said:   "Call International contributing Association @ 888-333-3076" and hung up immediately  ID showed I.  Area code is Houston , TX area.  I did not call.

7-21-13Sorry I made an error on the phone number the caller said to call. He said" , call 1-888-300-0376 International Contributers  Association.  I replayed the message-sorry for the mistake in the number.  I did not call back to the number he left-did not the number that came up on the Caller ID.

Called and let answer machine pick up, several times and just keeps asking for me by name and want leave message. He did not leave his name.

Ditto.  Caller ID'ed only as "Houston TX".

I received a call from this number at 8:15 AM on July 23rd. I did not answer for two reasons: if they were legit they would know they can't call that early and I was walking out the door. Call showed up as Houston TX

Keeps calling. Will not answer under any circumstances

I receive a call from this number just about everyday.The caller ask for me by my name" Hello --------- are you there"  I do not pick up the receiver and wish the caller would get some badly needed mental help.
