This # calls us all the time even though we are on the DO NOT CALL list - the caller ID shows number 1 first and underneath it that 713 number, sounds like an automated system to start with, if you engage in conversation when they ask "Is so and so there?" then they ask for a Police donations. Here is a tip - ask that person which police station they're calling from address and phone number as well as that person's name? They will not answer any of those questions because the Police never calls for donations. It's a scam.

called me on Sunday August 23' 2015 at 4:32pm, I was mad because I am so sick of getting these phone calls from these people from Houston, TX is what came up on my phone. I answered and asked for me, I said this is Sunday and I hung up on him!

some telemarketer trying to raise funds for state troopers shot in the line of duty. Using autodial software. Has the tone of a scam.

We've been getting calls from 1-713-581-1466 several times a day for the last couple weeks.  Never leave a message, and we don't answer.  Caller ID just says:  Houston, TX

Like others, CID said "I" and left a message asking if I was there by first name. Blocked.

Just a scam.

Fraternal Order of Police, my ass. They are also calling on the following numbers:713-955-5682 and 713-955-5635.

The call came in under "I" and was terminated when my answering machne took it.  They are, indeed, calling from numerous numbers and I appreciate the posters who refrerenced that and provided the humbers as well.

LOVE  my new phone that blocks 250 numbers.  Needing that many sounded absurd when I studied what to buy, but I've had to block SO many that it's crazy

How frustrating that we have to be on both the offense and the defense just to attempt to protect ourselves from people who hound us!

My mother got call from this number rood pushy insisted on talking to her son that dosent live there any more saying well i no i got the right number an i got talk to him to many pepole out killing cops .it rattled her because she has a protective order for her son to stay away an this guy calls like that not good for her.shes screening that number an wont answer now .

Uses first name only like if the SOB knows u. I was like what the heck. He has called my landline several times and I never answer but neither do they leave a message.

Some [***] from this number called my home at 8:03 this MORNING.  Outside the allowed time for spam calls.  Now that I know it's one of those bogus FOP organizations, I'll ask them when they plan to stop murdering black people and dogs.  That usually shuts them up for a while.  So I suggest that if you want to have some fun with these bozos.

This number calls the house at least twice a day.  They don't leave a message.  Actually the phone hangs up right before the answer machine would kick on.  The caller id only shows "I".

SCAM..asking for money to benefit PA State Police and their families, wounded on duty. Wow !! What a loser.

Caller ID  Houston TX.  I usually don't answer but this time I did and hung on but did not say anything.  I heard a hang up click.  I checked my call log and there are at least 7 calls from this number and never a message.  Getting sick of these robo calls.

I guess they're back at it again. My parents have received 7 calls from this #. The answering machine picks up and they ask if it's me. They call me by my name, even though I haven't been at this # for years. Same message as 'unwanted' got back in april 2015. Wish something could be done about it!

There can. You say the answering machine picks up. Turn that off and see what you hear then. Shouldn't be anything but a ringing phone--quite frustrating to them. As long as they get some kind of answer, the calls will continue. Be patient and let the phone ring with numbers you don't know, they're wasting their time calling you. A call blocker for a landline or a blocking app for a cell may be of some help, too. Give them no kind of answer.
