    Annoyed
Same as everyone else - same amount supposedly owed - heavy Indian accent -
I asked to speak with person in charge and another Indian accent saying his name was Richard Weber
I inquired about his title - he said he was a Senior Investigation Officer for the Internal Revenue Service.
When I started pressing him - he hung up - on to another person to dupe.

They called this morning at 7am.  ROBO said we were being sued by the IRS.  I've been audited by the IRS about 15 years ago.  The real IRS didn't call and leave a message with a computerized voice way back when...they  sent everything in the mail requiring a signature.  Total scam.  Trying to scare people out of their money.  Disgusting!

    Don't get Duped
Just an FYI..this has been going on for years. The Internal Revenue Service WILL NEVER, EVER CALL YOU! They do everything via US Mail so that there is a paper trail.

Me too!  Same exact amount!  I mentioned that I googled the number and was surprised to find that others were behind in  payments for the exact same amount of $4985.93 to the penny, she hung up.  Too funny, and too sad.  Why can't someone find these people and shut them down?

I received this call 2 times, from different numbers on my cell phone. Getting rid of your home phone won't help. I get far too many nuisance calls on my cell phone as well as my land line phone. There are many senior citizens that fall victim to these scams.

Received a voice mail on home land line from a recording. "For more information about this case file call 713.701.9932." I returned the call and Karen Cooper, slight accent, notified me that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me. Yeah, right. When I receive a certified letter and/or law enforcement shows up at my door, I may believe it.

keeps calling over and over leaving message that IRS is going to file a lawsuit against me... there would be absolutely no reason for them to do so

I also received these calls and called back -- exactly the same experienced with a man with a heavy Indian accent. After reading these posts, I called the number right back and the same man answered on the first ring. I threatened him and told him we were onto his scam. I will now try to report this to the FBI.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
