- Anony replies to TSame here, "he" asked if I accepted CCards.
Last night about 5pm, 3rd time I answered it. - WillNotGiveInfoToStrangers| 1 replyThis number called three times today and did not leave a message on the machine. On the fourth call I picked it up and the foreign accent man asked something about if I had American Express..... I told him I did not have American Express and to remove this number from his database. He called back a few minutes later asking if this was the number for my husband's private company which he was badly mispronouncing. I told him if he could not tell me what he was calling about that I would hang up immediately. He sounded flustered saying he was a customer of the company and needed to talk about his account. I told him that since he did not know what the company did that he was not a customer and this number had better be removed from the call list immediately.

- WillNotGiveInfoToStrangers replies to WillNotGiveInfoToStrangersJust talked to the friendly people at American Express. These guys are a scam out of India or China who are not physically in the US but are spoofing the phone number. Apparently I was the first one to report this particular number but the questions are the same. What they are fishing for is the merchant numbers. The guy suggested getting a whistle then answering the phone by blowing the whistle into the receiver as hard as you can....and do it each time they call. He said they might actually get the hint.
- JohnKeep getting calls from this number. Looks like this "company" is operating through a loop hole for the do not call registry. That's why other companies hire them to run their telemarketing campaigns. Total scumbags.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Chicago EdAh, springtime when the birds sing, the flowers burst forth new shoots and the wing-nuts of the annoying telemarketing community return to summer quarters. Same story: "Hello is this //garbled name of business//?" "Answer who is calling?" Response: "Do you take American Express?" Answer: "No I do not. Who is calling?" Response: "What credit cards do you take?" Answer: Who is calling?" Response, That is not important (or was it not necessary). Disconnected. The accent is hard to discern, but not native born English speaker, closer to south Asian, than others.

- Tania MichiganGot a call from this number, and as I saw others writing before, it showed on caller ID as 714-551-5502AA and 714-551-5502. This is the first time I believe I was called from this number, so I answered the phone with my usual greeting, and all I heard was a woman giggle on the other end and then hang up. Guess it could have been worse. Maybe someone was training today and was too shy to continue.

- so illinoisMiddle-eastern sounding accent called our business number, said he was "calling for his boss" and asked if we accept credit cards for our services. The company he asked for an entity that only has a couple customers who pay by check so this was instantly suspicious, but if he could provide details about the situation I would see if we could arrange something. He was "not authorized to provide details," asked again if we could accept credit cards, and hung up when I told him no. Definitely something fishy about this call.
I got the feeling that he would reach through the phone and take my credit card out of my pocket if he had the ability.- Caller: 714-551-5502AA
- Bob CarverSince these people are "exempt" from the DNC list, perhaps they would like to have their email addresses given to spammers.

- MattI got a call from this number several times today. Both times I answered they said they wanted to know if they could make a payment and if we took American Express. I said yes I took Amex but what invoice was it tied to? They said "why do I need that information?". I said I needed it to apply to the correct account. They then said that they were paying for their father. I then asked for his name. He stated to say he didn't know then corrected himself and said "I'm not going to give the information out." I then laid into him and told him that so, you will give me a credit card number over the phone but not your fathers name? He then asked for a manager. I told him I was one. He then said not someone higher up. I told him there is no one higher up than me. It's good to be the owner. I then said that I dont have any customers in California. He replied that he was on a cell phone. I said it didn't matter. I don't take payment from people that wont give me basic information on who the payment was from and who or what it is for. I then told him to scam someone else and to not call back.
I only wished I had gotten the Amex number and then called Amex and told them the number was compromised. - HarrassedTry this.

The TeleZapper is a device that plays the first tone in the three tones that precede the telephone company's historic "This number has been disconnected" message. Most telemarketing dialers listens for that tone, and when it is present, assumes the number is disconnected, the telemarketing dialer will immediately disconnect and delete your phone number from it's data bank list.
This is easy to set up, if you have an answering machine and sound for your computer you have everything you need.
If a computer Telemarketer calls, they won't leave a message (because the dialer has hung up, removed your phone number from the database and moved on to the next number in it's database). If it's a friend, well; life is normal, no change. If your not home, they can record a message for you. Your friends will hear the 'DO-DA-DEE' and then your voice greeting, after which they can leave a message. (Or if you use the single tone they will hear just 'DO'). If after hearing who's on the other end of the line and you want to take the call, simply pick up the handset and say "Hello"
Follow the instructions listed below and all of your calls will be screened AUTOMATICALLY!
Here's How it's Done:
Put your TELEPHONE ANSWERING MACHINE next to your computer speaker, (Or the other way around) and play the sound file. Record the sound file at the beginning of your outgoing message, then simply complete your voice greeting. Now your done! Now just sit back and let the answering machine screen your calls.
After perhaps a month of letting your answering machine screen all of your evening and weekend incoming calls, you'll have the same results as a $40.00 TeleZapper. It's that easy, It's that fast! This will work on any answering machine, digital or tape based and is compatible with Call Waiting & Caller ID.- Caller: Datascension

- finnhas called me several times that I did not answer, no voicemail, I answered not realizing what number was calling and a man with very heavy accent immediately demanded to know when I would be making a payment. Totally weird, did not identify himself or anything. When I asked who was calling he hung up. I am not behind in any bills and have nothing coming from a collection agency. It's either harrassment or something illegal.
- NWWhoever has the number now, they're back at it. Blacklisted in our system's CID database.

- glenRecveived call from this number at 6:44 pm on 26-July-2012. Person started to speak, but then quickly stopped, and phone disconnected after about 10 seconds of silence. Sounded like a boileroom telemarketing operation going on in the background. Tried redialing this number twice as I want our number to be removed from their dialing list, only to receive a message that the number cannot be reached Obviously computer spoofed. Internet search shows this company is a call center in Costa Rica supposedly doing market research. Company is incorporated in Las Vegas, NV.
