I just received a call from Mark Anderson from Harbinger Processing Group for the same reason.  I told him to send me a bill and he got irate with me at which point I hung up and called the credit reporting agencies to put a fraud alert on my SSN.  They are full of sh*t!

This place called me at work and told my boss they were coming to arrest me and wanted to know my hours I work.  They called my neighbor also.  I called them and got a machine.

It is a new name now. They are now Hatfield Portfolio Group, and some guy named Sean Connor is calling me saying I owe more than $3,000. I asked him to send me an email with a proof, and he has send me a temp email that disappeared from my box in 2 min. I reported this scam to my local police dept.

I am also receiving calls from Mark Anderson. I asked him to send me a statement in the mail and he was yelling at me. He told me not to put him in a corner and to stop being stupid. I then hung up. I have reported him as well. He said I shouldn't need a letter when I know the debt is mine. I'm scared because he has my info

Add me on the list too! I asked Mark Anderson to mail me a bill and he told me that I am making excuses and that he doesn't have to. He started screaming at me and I hung up. He's crazy

if u get a call from mark anderson from hatfield  it is a scam just ask him to send you written documention he will insult you saying the email is the same as regular mail but he won't do it just hang up on him

if you have been threatened in any way by a debt collector that you will be arrested, or a process server is coming, or legal action is being taken against you, file a complaint with the NY Attorney General by using this form:

I received a call from this company. The caller ID says "Pam Smalls" but the voicemail was a man named Sean Connor. Is this a scam?!? He said I needed to call back because there is a critical situation involving my ss#. Who are these people? Shod I return the call? 877-343-4346 is the # he called from, but they said they were Hatfield Portfolio Group.

I got a call a week ago from a woman named amanda who promised to send documentation. She called 3 days later and still hadn't sent documentation. She called today and I refused to verify any personal info or discuss the debt until I received documentation. She became rude and threatening. I I called customer service to complain. The guy said he would send out documentation and I said wait, wasn't that amanda's job?  He also stated that a debt company had outsourced their collections to another company who had outsourced their collections to Hatfield. I threatened to call better business Bureau and he suggested he would put a cease and desist and no contact on my "account".  I also looked looked this company up and found the company located in Nevada not new York. It's less than 8 months old And has previous names. There are 13 complaints with the Bbb for this company

I am getting calls from Hatfield at 716-254-1664 from a Kevin Whitmore.  He is rude and threatening. He said a judgement will be in my courthouse by 5pm today. Says I owe money that I have paid the debt off and I called the parent company he said I owed to and they have never heard of or used them to collect from.  I called back requesting documentation and nothing.

Received three messages from Kevin Whitmore from Hatfield Recovery.  Says it is important to call back regarding a file number that is attached to my SS number and name.  Does not say what this is in regards to.  Left a message for my son as well with the urgent message for me to return his call.  Again, no reference to what this is about or what it is about. Said in my son's voice mail that he tried to contact my daughter as well but her phone was no longer in service (guess she got lucky!).  No idea what he is calling about and would probably return the call if I had a clue.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

This is a legitimate company in Buffalo ny. You are being called cause you owe fingerhut. Pay your bill and you won't get anymore calls. That's what happens when you steal from companies by ordering merchandise and don't pay for it!!!

Do not call list does not pertain to debt collectors contacting you regarding s debt you owe. Stop trying to avoid paying your bills and man up. Pay what you owe abs you won't get calls anymore. Problem solved

Only people owing a LEGITIMATE debt should have any concern with these callers. Those that realize they DO owe, should pay, and the calls will stop, others should ignore (never answer) the calls from these AH's, and their phones will stop ringing also.

As to legitimate debt collectors, yes.  Everyone should pay their just debts.  But this Hatfield does not seem legitimate.

Threats of arrest and abusive behavior and worthless threats are all examples of behavior that is not allowed under the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, yet this company and it's predecessor Harbinger engaged in that behavior and still do.   Such companies don't deserve anything except prosecution by the FTC!  And maybe the New York Attorney general.

Note well, one of these days this  Hatfield group is going to be pulled down.

This is a criminal enterprise located in Western New York, known haven for these types of fake debt collectors that break the law from sun up to sun down.  How would you know that this person had a Fingerhut account?  Were you the one making this illegal call?  You do know that by coming here and giving false testimonials you are breaking the law?

People are being harassed for debts they do not owe, belong to someone else, have been discharged in bankruptcy, paid, or the SOL has expired....

This isn't a discussion as to whether or not we should "Pay our bills"--

This is about consumers' rights when it comes to the collection of debts.
