Received a call at 08:30 ID as New York 716-469-7845. Did not answer, they left no message.. We are on the "do not call list". With no avail. - Random123Was called this evening by "Source Group". The man said I entered to win a trip and won. Told me a 3 day and 2 night vacation to 10 possible locations. He asked if I was married and I said, "No, why?" To which he replied "Ok, thank you. My supervisor will be calling you shortly with your confirmation code." Before I could ask any questions he hung up. Never said or asked my name during the call..

- Suzi replies to PerigrinoWhen was the last time you got a telemarketing call from a legitimate company?
These are scammers trying to steal your money. You think they care about following the do not call list laws? - Dr. D replies to LaurenIf you're carrying a new "smart" credit card, be aware that the little silver chip in the card is broadcasting your information - so anyone near you with a reader can pick it up. Google RFID chips in credit cards. Even the lower level bank reps don't understand how these things work! But banks are rolling them out as "signature cards." Better do your homework - you're vulnerable, I just found out myself.
- KenjiUnwanted call. He said he was a manager but i don't know if that was true. He hung up before I could ask to be taken off the list
- Carrie| 2 repliesIt is not a scam per say, but this number is a telemarketer from Group Source. If you are part of a couple and make more than $50,000 a year, a manager at Global Vacation Network will call you back with a promotional offer provided you attend one of their 90 minute seminars. Basically it is like one of those timeshare deals where they offer something free to have you listen to their pitch. You still have to pay taxes on the vacation so wasn't really worth it for us.

- Slim replies to CarrieUm ... so, a telemarketer called, in violation of the Do Not Call list, then told you you would have to attend a long and boring sales pitch, and pay something for a "free" trip, and you say it is not a scam?

Remember to return here, to 800notes.com, after you look at any of the information at that site, either to post more information, or to let us know you avoided the scam, or to read any further information about that number that others may post. - StevePressed me to remember a card that I filled out at a shopping mall. I never do this. "You entered a contest with a card at a shopping mall? Remember? Remember?" Obvious push-scam. Guy spoke with a thick Indian accent.

- AnonCalled saying they were from "All Souls Grub," that I filled out an application and won something. I told them to shove it and hung up.
- MegaCalling my iPod (yes, the MP3 player.. not iPhone) on my TextFree program's phone number that I do not even know what that number is (since never use it except to keep the number active for texting), let alone ever used it for signing up for anything... nothing but scammers, liars and blatant idiots.

- JohnnaI received a call on my cell phone from this number: 1-716-469-7845. I was told that I had scheduled a trip last spring and the caller was calling to reschedule it. She even said, "You don't remember doing this last spring?" She had a pronounced accent that sounded Jamaican or Bahamian. I asked that she remove me from whatever list I was on and hung up.
