- SteveCalled, no message. Called back, fake IRS guy answered.
- Caller: Scam
- Lily| 1 replyThere was a pre-recorded message from a female voice left on my answering machine, threatening legal action if I didn't return the call. It said I could call and get my "case number" and left the phone number given. The caller id had the same number and said it was from Buffalo, NY. The first part of the message was cut off because the robo voice started talking before the machine picked up. Scam.

- Lucy A.voicemail female caller requesting call back to 7165074012 for "federal grand jury case number" and to talk to a "federal agent". According to other posts, I strongly suspect this to be a scam.

- Mary replies to DebbieI received two automated calls regarding supposedly a federal offense. The automated caller stated I should call right away, if not I would be arrested within 24 hours. Immediately, I knew it was a scam. Please beware!!!
- Mike from KansasReceived 2 calls a couple of hours apart warning me that a lawsuit had been filed against me in Federal Claims Court and that 5 criminal allegations were filed against me. The msg warned me that the local county sheriff's office will be issuing a warrant for my arrest and to prevent this from happening, call this 716 #. Call ended with a strange "if you do not return this call, all I can say is good luck." msg. NEVER IDed themselves. I returned the call, got a guy with a foreign accent who said he was a lead investigator for the IRS and gave me a name and a badge number. I played dumb until he asked for my Social Security # so he could "call up more information on the allegations against me." That's when I told him to shove it and hung up.
- Caller: N/A "IRS Scam"
- Scammer| 1 replyCalled back 716-507-4012 from a different area code and they picked up in 2 rings and indentifed themselves as the IRS. NO ONE from the public get the IRS to pickup in 2 rings. After calling the person a foreigner and a scammer they hung up. Didn't pick the next time. Why can't do not call catch that?
- Caller: IRS
- Tamianth replies to Scammer→The DNC isn't a call blocker and can not protect you from the illegal callers, extortion scammers, foreign country's and frauds. Criminals do not obey laws simply said. They use spoofed numbers which make it hard to track them down.. it takes time to do this and many subpoenas for call records.←
Debt Collectors and the government do not fall under the DNC which is only for telemarketers who try to sell you goods and/or services. Charity, Political, and some Survey's are exempt from the DNC as well. Survey's that try to sell goods or services after the survey are not exempt from the DNC no matter what they say otherwise!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
