This person called and said the have a civil suit against me

i had the same thing happen to me and then low and behold i received a legal notice with a court date and was actually being pursued and now i got legal advice to know that as long as they provide you a letter with all the info these companies are actually legit

These ppl just don't quit they keep calling and bugging my family they need to stop already its bs

This number call me this morning talkung about suein me on aug 6i had ny husband check the number and there are a fake number please tell them to stop...

I got a call.  They also called my sister and my son.
They said that federal law require them to notify me first before they'll be contacted me at my place of employment.
From these post sounds like they are legitimate does anybody know which payday loan company it is

I got a message left on my home phone, stating I was being sued for for over drafted checks.  I started looking up this number and finally got the web site.  The name given to me was Patrick Connor and Associates.  I am not returning any calls and if it is a factual situation..........then sue me.

Idk about everyone else but even if they are rated an F on the BBB the guy Tom Baldwin had some debt of mine I for got about the guy called me an was so cool calm an collective an who exactly listened to me first before he went into any details about my debt, I asked him to provide me some proof an he did.Tom really didnt jump on me about paying anything he just ran me through an couple of options on how to rectify my debt an resolve it without it putting me through financial hardship so set up payment arrangements an when I paid my first payment I thought he would take off like an alot of these scammers out there but he didnt he actually works for an real company so I ended up paying off my debt on my next arrangement plus a tip for him,he sent my something through my email to sign then less den a week later I received my letter in the mail stating my debt has been paid in full with the name of his company on the letter as well

Good, then you won't mind posting the full business name, verifiable street, city and state address for them. And oh, since you also mention a f rating with the BBB, you can post that BBB link as well here. Googling PC & Associates only turns up a construction business, and Patrick Conner & Associates listed in other posts turns up nothing. Now a Patrick O'Conner and associates did turn up, but alas, they turned out to be involved in tax's.  So do post up this company's verifiable information.. Inquiring Minds want to know!

I keep getting these calls so I finally answered it i started talking to the guy before he said anything about my debt he said were on an recorded monitored line an that this for my protection as well as his, then he confirmed all of my personal information so I started to listen Tom went over my account with me things I cant disclose with yall but it was all me so I asked how could I handle this an how do I know your not trying to scam me he asked for my email an sent proof to me then I asked to mail me one as well an sure enough he did that too so I asked if I could get an one time settlement on this matter, I was shocked an amazed when he said yes so I sent da money then bout an hour later I received in my email that my account has been settled then a couple days after I received my settlement letter in the mail...Ty happy new year because you made mine a whole lot happier

Well, after all, email, phone and fax are not legal proof of any debt owed.  DV's have to be sent ala snail mail!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Same Tom Baldwin guy! Not getting constant calls. He called once then 2 weeks later then yesterday! Should I call back? Wouldn't these debts be on your credit reports? I owe a couple things but I'm in the process of paying those so not sure what to do? Just ignore them?

Received a phone call at our place of business from Tom Baldwin with a garbled message and garbled phone number. Message was directed at an individual who has not owned the business since 2008 and has not lived in this state since then. From what I can gather he is changing his tactic a little, referring to a legal action the called individual is taking against Baldwin's client. I found Baldwin's phone number through a google search and got to this web site. I will NOT be returning his call.
