Why is this number calling me?

I did not answer and they did not leave a VM. When I tried calling the back I got a message that said "The person at extension, goodbye."   Since they left No extension number, it seems real shady.

Thanks to IOS 7, I can finally block this number, woohoo!

The key to telemarketers is to BE POLITE and ask them to remove you from their list.  BY LAW they must do so!

If you continue to receive calls from the same number, they are obviously scammers that do not operate under the constraints of the law and therefore need to be reported.

Scroll this forum for the guy with a response describing how to report these people to the FCC.

They represented themselves as a vehicle warranty company.

Excuse me, but Verizon told me they do not block calls.

I just received a call on my CELL from this number!  I hit ignore and sent it to voice mail, which they did not leave one.  It is bad enough when these scammers call my land line, but my cell??  C'mon!  I rarely give out my cell phone number, I have a Google voice number I use for online shopping and any other time I need to give a phone number and do not want to give out my land line or cell phone, which is nice because I almost NEVER get telemarketer calls on my cell, but these scammers still ended up with the number!  Scammers obviously do not pay attention to the DNC registry!

Oh, and if you have an android phone, you should have the option to add a number to your phone book, then set it to automatically go to voicemail...this number is now on my list of numbers to go to vm.  Another option is an app called "call control".  Unfortunately it will sometimes let the phone ring once, and if you're using Sync in your car, it will interrupt (at least it did on my older model Sync, not sure about the new one yet).

The caller informed me that the warranty was almost out on my car and this was my last chance to purchase warranty.  I informed her that I didn't own a car and drove a company vehicle.  She was a little lost for words...

Just called a few minutes ago. I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. I am paying for my phone for my convenience. If they want to be Unknown, I don't answer. I recently got a phone that announces the caller id so I don't have to go to the next room if it is an unknown caller.

This number is a rip off !!! Your vehicle warrant has expired right?? I said which vehicle is the warranty expired? I ask 3 times?? They hung up!!

718-737-7161 is calling our business line constantly, but there is NEVER anyone on the other end when we answer. just constant calls. Reporting the calls as nuisance calls to the FCC.gov website.

Call from 718-737-7161.  "Julia" from vehicle warranty center.

Said they were from Vehicle Warranty center and my warranty was up.  When I asked for which vehicle, the woman fumbled around and hung up on me.  Thought so.

Called  today from Staten IS, NY   I have "Do not call"  active
