Does anyone know how to block these numbers?

Just took a call from this number; caller i.d. Payphone.  Some guy (strong accent; from India?) named Adam said he's from Star Tech Support, the only authorized company from Microsoft to fix software problems.  Said my computer was sending error messages and unless I sat in front of my computer and gave him information my computer would crash.  I said i didn't have time right now and if he had a number that I could call him back at.  He insisted that I sit in front of my computer.  I asked him where he was calling me from.  He said Honolulu.  When I said that the number on my caller i.d. is not a hawaii area code, he gave some story about calling through a world-wide system.  When I insisted that he give me a number I could reach him at, he gave me the runaround until finally he said 307-529-0607.  I told him that I don't believe him and that I'd take my chances that my computer would crash.  WOW!  Glad there's Google for me to punch in his number!

Same thing; 'payphone' on called-id. He knew my name, so they're obviously working from sort of list. Says he's from Microsoft and they've been receiving hundered of error messages sent from my computer; to prove it he got me to verify some long string in some CLSID from the registry.Wow the numbers matched so yes you must be legit. NOT! Total idiot this guy, the way he was arguing with me gave away he obviously didnt work for Microsoft. Asked him where he got my phone number... thats when his story started to fail.. he said that they got it when I registered with MS.. told him I'd never given my phone number. Anyways, suggested he was a scumbag and should get an honest job... he then kind of hung up when I was laughing at him.

Just got off the phone from someone saying she was from Microsoft. I said she had the wrong number.

My mother who is 88 got a call from that number. She does not have a computer or internet. Can somebody stop this guys?

I have just got a call from this number. It was a lady, she didn’t tell her name, but she said she was from Microsoft and I got some problems with my computer. Then I hang up quickly.

Got a call on my phone at 10:21 pm - caller Id stated "payphone - 718-758-9741"  when answered just heard operator say :goodbye" and hung up.  I looked up on computer - stated was from land line in Brooklyn, NY.  i don't know anyone there and wish to NOT receive anymore calls from this number.

Just got a call from this number late at night.  Didn't answer

I received a telephone today, in Mississauga. Color ID noticed.

Calles my mobile in nz. My dad answered and was told they were looking for a particle person in the US. He said he'll call back but never did. Dodgy!

getting the same phone calls from a "pay phone" have not been home when they call though. also getting another from pueblo co 719-948-4726 or 2476 but when I answer they hang up. and when I call back it says it has been disconnected.

These guys are still at it as of September 4, 2013...  said he was from HP

I just got a call from the number above.Just exactly like Lori decribed above. He wanted me to type in the run section "EVENT VWR" at that point I hung up. But before I hung up he said I had a virus sending emails and my computer was infected. I asked what country he was calling from (caller ID said Brooklyn NY) and he said "Los Angeles." Right after I hung up a call came in from a number : 618-529-9140. After looking up his number, it said it was a landline in IL. He was wanting access to my computer

Same east Indian voice stating he was calling on behalf of Microsoft regarding a virus on my computer. I recognized this scam and immediately informed him that this number will be sent to the New York State Attorney General's Office for processing ...he hung up on me before I could ask him questions to send to the NY State Attorney's office.

Told me I was going to be discounted. Had an India accent. Could hardly understand him. Tild him I knew he was a spam call and it was from a payphone. I hung up.

I live in Northern Ireland and a call from this number, it came up on my phone sayin it New York. When I answered a dude with a weird accent askin 4 my bank details cuz I won money. I told him I wasn't interested and he told me I hope u get bombed like the rest of ur country. A bit rough although 2b fair the following day in my work there was a bomb alert but I got a half day off cuz the building had the bomb squad in all day lol.

12/4/13-Had a guy call me today on my home phone- don't know how he got my home phone number. He also was a Indian speaking guy, he said he was from Microsoft and that I had hackers on my computer. He actually was on my computer while I was on it, he was also calling from a payphone- same phone number as all of the others. He then said he could fix the problem for one year for $ 179.00- or $ 300.00 for 5 years. Asked him who he was and then told me was from Windows- asked him his name he said Richard and hung up the phone.
