Called to tell me that my wife had an IRS tax lein against her for not filling 941 payments for 2002 and other years.  Didn't ask for any specific information and when she gave the business id number, it was not even close to mine.

This number is from Preston Powers and Stone debt collectors. They called my employer looking for me. They have called at early mornings and relentlessly. I am reporting them to the FTC! They are a collection agency representing themselves as a law firm.

No voice mail left; when answered left absolutely no identification or contact information other than mentioning "tax matter" and declining to deal with finances over paper mail.  "This is definitely not a solicitation".

This is a company that helps businesses that have tax debt. They're looking for customers.

Another telephone solicitation about a "tax matter"; already had the proper postal address, so they already had the proper (and only acceptable) way to make contact about tax issues.

What more did you find out about them?  I am dealing with them on a crazy matter, and they seem real shady...

A man called himself Shawn said he represented a firm called Larson in Los Angeles. and wanted to help me with an EED tax issue.I checked with EED and referanced the ID number Shawn gave me , no such case number exist, Total BS as we don't employ anyone. Told "shawn" he was a shiester and asked that he not bother me, must have forgotten as I was called several more times.
Never any paper correspondance, area code Denver Colorado....not sure what the game is but I can smell a con job......

Just let it ring. Nothing I was expecting. Looked it up here, and just now called them. Larson Financial was the name. Asked to be added to their internal do-not-call list. She asked for the name, and I provided both name and number. Professional, albeit a bit rushed. Did call around that 2:30pm "ugh" people seem to get while working in an office, so that was probably why.

We'll see how effective the take off list request was...

Claimed to be the IRS used the name of another business in town.  I am reporting this fraud to the IRS>

Recievd a phone call from this number about 2:45 p.m. central time.  No one left a V.M.  from all of the posts, I'm thinking they will try again.  I hope they like V.M.  I am not ever answering.  LOL.

THESE PRESTON, POWERS AND STONE JERKS CALLED MY CELL PHONE AND ASKED FOR MY 14 YEAR OLD SON. THIS OF COURSE TICKED ME OFF AND MADE ME CALL THEM BACK. IF IT ISN'T ILLEGAL, IT SHOULD BE TO INVOLVE A MINOR IN THIS WAY!

Just got a call from 720-836-4155 and she said she needed to speak with the owner to verify a tax deposit that was made (and she quoted a date). I told her no one would verify anything unless she identify herself to be the IRS. She said "Oh no maam, I am with Larson and we jus need to verify the tax deposit that was just made and speak with us about a recent tax filing". I told her that, that information did not satisfy me nor am I goin gto give any information to her so she hung up on me.  
I am sure I will receive plenty more calls from them as others have stated. Really bothers me that they might have information in re to the dates of our tax deposits.

Got a call yesterday from this number saying that a lien was on a market that my family owned 25 years ago. Apparently, the lien was filled January 29,2011 which was a Saturday!

I just received a call from Preston, Powers & Stone (llc), I called back and asked who they were and then I just hung up.  If these people are not associated with the IRS, or they really are not a law firm, then someone needs to press charges against them, if that was me trying to do that, they would bury me under the jail!  WTH??  The phone number was 956-429-3034.

Have received two phone calls from this company within 30 minutes offering "tax services" to take care of a non-existent tax lien.  They demand to know the name of the business, and owners names, etc., which you would think they would have if they are calling about a tax lien.  They claim they are not trying to sell anything, but I must give them all of our personal information so that they can help.  Checked directly with the state to make sure there were no tax liens just in case there was something I didn't know and there are no liens on my business.  Continued harassment of the business and staff will result in immediate legal action.

totally the same thing as reported above. DON'T give them money, the IRS will help you set up a payment plan, call your local office and the IRS is more than happy to help you!!!
