I got the same kind of call... as well. and guy was abusive and shouting and hung up before i said that i will call my husband and consult with him

A phony caller claimed his name to be Max Wilson from the state investigation department and his call is to inform that they have received a legal affidavit against my husbands name. He wanted y husband to call back ASAP on the above number. He said it was regarding Tax for the year 2010 - 2011 (I am well versed in tax audits). They are from NY State of investigation in NJ. So I asked what investigations they do and he got annoyed. The IRS calls will come from 1800 numbers and they won't ever have direct numbers to call back. So I told him that I am on the joint return and the tax preparer so he can disclose it to me. He said NO. It was clear that they were fraud but not sure what they are upto. Going to see where I can report this.

Just got a call from this number. Threatened me that there was an arrest warrant going to be executed in my name within 30 minutes if I did not settle out of court. He told me his name was "Steve Morgan" and was from the State Investigation Department and read my name and address. Anything I should do - should I inform the police?

Got a call from "Officer Sam Riches" from state investigation department. Said that there is a case against my identity and that he would take legal action if I do not call him back. He used my first and last name.

received phone call from 732 645 1697 brunswick nj . guy named erik methews saind i owe state tax money i pay within 15 min or go to court  and arrest warrant . icalled my friend right away he told me do not do anything hang up the phone. i am annoyed.

My wife got a call from this number and very rudely the person left a voice message to call back at this number. Failure to do so will result in Arrest Warrant.

I got exact same message from same phone 732-645-1697 today Dec 12th 2014. Caller said he is investigator from New Jersey Investigation Dept. His name was mentioned like Phil burn. Said, there is a case filed in my name with 3 serious allegations. If I don't call him back, it may result in arrest. At the end he said God bless you. I an planning to goto Police Dept. to file complain.

Like all of you i got the same call from this number, stating they were going to take immediate action against me for my identity theft. When I called back I got an answering machine that would not any calls. Worse part is they got to a Time Warner phone number which is unlisted.

I'm calling the credit report agencies to put a fraud alert for the next 90 days. Just in case!

Caller id showed: New Brunswck NJ.  Did not sound like a automated call, but sure is prank.

I have received 5 such calls over the past six months, from Indian speaking "John/Jack", Italian Accents and British Accents. I  am at a point that I now dish it back to these F*&kers. We know these are fake. If you have a few minutes to spare, just play with their minds. You know there is nothing they can do.

Received a message from  732-645-1697 just now. They left a VM stating some legal stuff blah blah.
got a similar call last time also saying that I own $5K in taxes.. These are junk calls.

Few minutes before I received a call from this number 732-645-1697 with desi tone (Indian).  I did not picked up and the guy left threatening message of suing if not reply.  Thanks for reporting all these non-sense call to aware public.

Same thing. Got a call from 732-645-1697. Call back or else........fraud obviously. This number needs to be investigated and the perps stopped.

The person Chris Brown left a message that you have not paid Michigan taxes on packages and asked us to call back at 732-645-1697. When called back the message says Michigan Investigation Dept. When called later a person Davis told the Michigan Investigation Dept  sent three notices and you didn't respond. Now the attorney general Chris Brown is issuing an arrest warrant against you. If you want to settle the matter out of court, you need to pay the taxes to clear charges. They wanted money to be paid by Green dot money pack cards only. He told the cards are available at CVS Pharmacy and Rite Aid. They created such a stressful atmosphere that I paid these charges and then he gave a confirmation number and told the case is closed. You don't need to worry.

I got a similar message from one Alan Cooper (federal Investigator!) who was threatening me with dire consequences on the voice mail. I called back and let him know that I am sending voice mail file to the authorities for verification if the call was genuine or not he got flustered and cut the conversation pretty fast. The number he called from was (732) 645-1697.
