I got a call from this number but they did not leave a number or a message

i got called multiple times a day in july and now it looks like they are starting to do this again

so annoying, i remember that they were a debt collection company, answer as your local cities police for them to leave you alone for a while.

Calls but nobody answers so let them go to my full voicemailbox.

Portfolio recovery it's a forwarded number as well

I answered but didn't say anything, heard background noises but caller did not say anything either, then THEY hung up

They have been calling me for so long I don't remember when it started. I never answer a number I do not know. They never leave a message. They call from various phone numbers.
It's borderline harassment!

Scam: They are not interested  if any  person they call owes money or not.  They are just looking for someone or anyone  to send them money. I would flush money down the toilet before I would send those scam artists any money.They have so many complaints against them the number  can't be counted.

Another Portfolio Recovery number to permanently block in my phone. They are persistent, pernicious and above all, unscrupulous. I have read all about these buzzards. Best to block all their numbers if you are on their radar.

They call about every other day at 8:15am Pacific time(California)and don't leave any message. I hid my number and called them back, got a recording "For English, press 1......this call may be monitored, and is an attempt to collect a dept......" and that's when I hung up.  I have been a student for two years, and am unemployed, have a few unpaid bills. They can go [***] themselves!

I have a job, I don't have any unpaid bills, I still get calls daily from these guys. AFAIK all bills are paid and there is nothing on my credit report showing... don't pick up your phone.

Well what can I tell you? These guys (Portfolio Recovery) are genuine bottom feeders of debt collection industry. They buy old statute expired debt and through harassment tactics try to collect 10 to 30 cents on the dollar. Of course the minute anything is collected, the statute date resets to day 1 and their other outfits and ambulance chasers come after you. If you have noticed their letter of settlement is only for the debt with them, not original debtor or the next place they sell it to. The only way to fight these guys is to get with your state authorities. These guys know all the Federal loopholes.

Got another call from these jokers today.  I didn't answer.  Yes I owe a debt to Capital One.  That I admit.  But I do not deal with collection folks and this is beyond the statute of being able to sue me.  I'm not working and have another debt to pay that is within statue.  Guess who I will pay first?  I have close to 40 phone numbers blocked from them.  What is worse though is they are now calling my mother, who has dementia.  All they do is call, hang up and call again.  All it does is confuse her and scare her.  This company is the most despicable collection agency ever and I will NEVER pay them a cent.

Follow the steps in what you need to know. You might want to buy mom a call blocker and block these numbers also.

Yeah Portfolio is starting up again with me but I consider it a game ,  I simply look at my phone's screen and the app whocalls let's me know the number is frequently blocked I don't answer unknown numbers but it's nice to get a heads up plus I can now identify this number for  the users of  Whocalls as a lowlife debt collection scam agency.   Thanks to everyone who continues to take the time to post comments here it's a big help. 😚 here's to the jerks at Portfolio Recovery  😤

Thank you for this list. I am now starting to get calls from the 757 area code so those numbers you listed with that area code will be blocked now, the others I already have blocked. They keep calling me on a cellphone that belonged to the person they are looking for, and know matter how many times I tell them they have the wrong number, they just keep calling. I just add the number to my reject list on my Samsung Galaxy.
