If you're foolish enough to actually talk to these people the ONLY thing you should tell them is that they now have 5 business days to mail (NOT e-mail or fax.) you a notice of validation. As per federal regulations under the FDCPA.
In the unlikely event that they do mail you something, VERIFY all its contents. If you dispute their claim tell them so via registered return mail. Include in that letter a cease & desist demand that stipulates that any further communication with you is to be in writing by mail only.
    Be Safe. Be Aware.

Hello- validate your claim properly. It is a failure on YOUR part if you are unwilling to do so. Alternatively, if you wish to demean the American consumer, you may alleviate your concerns by paying the 'alleged' debt yourself. Thank you for contributing to a better America.

They also call from area codes 855, 801,860 ...they have called me numerous times leaving vague messages about legal action. When I returned the call, I found out they were looking for someone that used me as a personal reference, I have nothing to do with the transaction or debt allegedly owed...they were leaving me messages bordering on threats...these people are real pieces of work and I'm certain they are breaking more than a few laws with these practices. Next time they call, I will inform them that I am turning on the recorder for documentation of the conversation and my final request to not contact my residence as I personally have NO business with them.

Some of you people on here are so closed minded! I've worked with them previously and other agencies! We cannot fix how many times people are called a day! If America would just pay your debts the world would be so much better but yet were surrounded by deadbeats that have out of statue of limitation debts that think they don't owe [***] well sorry to disappoint you all but your still have to pay your bills! Just because it's out of stat doesn't mean you don't owe it all that means is no collection agency or 3rd party can legally do anything but learn your laws people the IRS does not go by out of stat accts it doesn't matter if it's 30 years old to file a 1099c be smart people if your really too much of a piece of [***] to pay your bills keep your accts under $2k the IRS won't waste their time!

How about this just do a cease and decline there is always a validation period! No one receives a validation letter without speaking to the acct holder first and they have to verify your info

I just received a call from CKS Financial, saying they are trying to collect a debt from 2011. They called my work number and I started out speaking to a lady that was certainly not friendly, but wasn't terrible. Once she didn't get me to pay, she transferred me to an annoying and pushy "manager" that was outright rude.
I asked for verification of this debt be sent to my home address. He kept pushing for an email address, in which I refused to give, and in the end was threatening.

If I really owe this money (which I do not know this company) then they should have no problem mailing verification. He also wanted me to pay TODAY online with a debit or credit card. Seems fishy.

They can either mail me something or get nothing. I'm not playing their games.

The person who wrote this ridiculous post should find Dorothy on the yellow brick road and find the wizard and ask for a heart, brain, and courage. People get laid off, sick, disabled etc. and that is the number one reason people are unable to pay debt.
Attempting to defend debt collectors who use every scam in the world to collect is both sad and funny. New laws are passed every year to regulate debt collectors. Why is that?

And to use profanity? a sign of a very limited mind.

Looks like they were sued, so much for the “responsible” debt collection:  http://www.law360.com/cases/4f75fb9ce7d4b864ad004037

And looks like they have a new boss:  http://hamptonroads.com/2009/07/cdyne-corp-acquires-debt-collection-agency
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

i used to work for them. alot of the debt is old. if you got a call about debt out of statue of limitations, its usually because the file hadnt breen updated yet. most debt is valid. for most complaints, it was because people simply didnt want to pay. they are highly reputable

If most debt is valid, then not all of it is.  That means you are collecting illegally on that debt.  Also, why don't you send out the required paperwork as the law tells you to?  Because none of that debt is valid.  If you worked for them then you are nothing more than a scumbag criminal.

Thanks to all who posted about this company.  Just providing another number they use:  321-209-6431.  I won't talk to anyone who calls me from an unidentified phone number but I do keep a data base on them, and immediately block their calls.

Stop with the nonsense replies to Aubrey
I've been contacts via telephone by numerous scams like this. I gather as much information I can from them and dispute it with them, while requesting a notice in writing be sent to my house. You want to know why? Because these are debts I've never had. You want to know what I never receive? Any notice or statement from these "companies" about these debts. You're trying to defend scammers, makes sense since you used to work for them.

You make me sick! You talk like you're better than everyone else and have never made a mistake. I don't know what rock you have been under but there are plenty of these companies that could care less about the law. They will threaten, lie and they WILL drain your account once given the info. Are you really that stupid? Survey says yes. You know nothing about what others are going through or what hardships they may have encountered.  How about crawling back under your rock and stay there
