Create a contact for these numbers, name it something like "Bob," or some other name that isn't already one of your contacts. Every time they call, add the number to "Bob." Then just block "Bob." That usually gets around the "block limit" on most phones, as it's just all considered one contact that's being blocked.

FDCPA fair debt collection practices act states that they can leave a message but it cant contain the reason for the debt, thats a federal law, theres no state laws for collection agencies they have to follow federal regulations

These guys (Portfolio Recovery) are genuine bottom feeders of debt collection industry. They buy old statute expired debt and through harassment tactics try to collect 10 to 30 cents on the dollar. Of course the minute anything is collected, the statute date resets to day 1 and their other outfits and ambulance chasers come after you. If you have noticed their letter of settlement is only for the debt with them, not original debtor or the next place they sell it to. The only way to fight these guys is to get with your state authorities. These guys know all the Federal loopholes.

No message left by caller.  Recognized the number to be from PORTFOLIO RECOVERY.  Believe it's from a call center trying to make their quota of calls to that go thru (so they can be paid for each call) that represents this company.  DO NOT answer.  I do not owe anything to this company.

    Mom
Called while I was at the dentist with my kids. I answered, unsure of who it'd be, they told me they had information to confirm regarding my Capital One account.
"I don't have, nor have I ever had any sort of account with Capital One. Also, I am at the dentist with my kids. This is not a good time."
"Ma'am, if this is not your account then I have just a few steps I need you to take while I have you on the line."
"No thank you, this is not a good time, and if this is not my account, then it is none of my business."
"Ma'am, can you confirm your birthdate?"
"No, thank you. Please do not call this number again."

They called back a month to the day later. I blocked the number.
