They called us too about the vacation resort.  They said we signed up for it at the state fair, and had all our info correct (email, phone, address).  We had signed up for something, though not a resort, whatever we signed up for must have sold our names.  Anyway, as soon they told us we needed to put money down, we knew it was a scam.  When I told them this, they hung up immediately.

I got the same call. Said I entered to win at the county fair... Which was clearly false... They went on and on for about a good 20-30 mins.. Then claimed that I just needed to pay $75 and I would get it right back when I came to the resort. It took me a good 10 mins of being nice saying that we would
Love the trip but not going to give a credit Card number to you. Even suggested I give them a number that would decline...finally I had to be very blunt and they just hung up. Even prizes cost money these days.

Must have got my number from the South Park Ribfest in Pittsburgh.  They talked superfast, transfered me 4 times, "upgraded me" then tried to pick specific date for me to drive 250 miles to see the resort.  I said I could pick a day, the women on the phone must have tried 10 times to get me to pick a date.  When I said I couldn't she hung up.

It's legit, but annoying. It's worth it if you have the time and feel like saying 'no' to some sales pitches. It's not a scam, it's not illegal, and it's not new.

This is absolutely NOT a scam. This company is completely legitimate. They called us a few weeks ago about a form we filled out at our local Burger King. We booked a stay at Massanutten Resort over President's Day weekend. It really is a nice place.

I also went to the Motor Trend Car Show, the one in Baltimore, and filled out the entry form for the new 2013 vehicle at the front door.  That 757 number has been calling me on and off for the past week or two but wouldn't leave a voicemail, so I googled the number and came across all this.  I decided to answer when they called me last night at 6:30pm and told them I read about them online and I knew it was a gimmick and ya'll are scammin' people etc etc etc LOL.  They "reassured" me that they are not a scam and that I've "won a vacation for up to 4 adults at the Massanutten Resort in Virginia (www.massresorts.com) and that I've also won a bunch of "other prizes".  My phone was dying so I had to get off the line but they said they'd call back at 8:30pm.  They called at 8:33pm...  You were 3 minutes late, so I did not answer, lmfao.

Oh yeah, and the lady on the phone "Miss Burnside"  (sounds phoney as crap..) told me "Congratulations" over and over and that I should "go play the lottery" since I'm on such a streak of luck!  Lmfao.  I hope they DO call back so I can mess with them a little bit...  Shame on Motor Trend's International Car Show for allowing this type of BS at their venue.  I'm calling the marketing/sales director for Motor Trend's car shows (Martha Carrasco at 949-705-3135) to tell her this is ridiculous and shame on them.

This isn't a scam. It's pretty straight forward. You give them $75 so you have more of an incentive to get it back. You get your gift card and vacation after you listen to somebody try and sell you timeshares. If you have the knowledge to look up numbers that call you, then I would assume you'd have the knowledge to look up a company.

3 calls tonight from this number. I think these companies pay for space in Fairs and Trade Shows and offer gift cards as a front for this operation.  I was at such an event.  I will NOT be entering anymore of these "contests."

So I go to a World Of Pets Expo at the end of Jan. 2013 and I did fill out a contest entry form to win dog supplies and products. No where on the entry form or the booth representatives state to me that there would be a time share company calling me, that was nothing that stated that my information would be shared to any other companies either. The phone number I listed in case I won some supplies for my dog I just happen to write down my cell phone number. The lady on the phone tells me I won a 3 night, 2 day stay at a wonderful resort in Virginia. Right then and there I knew that it was totally wrong even though she read every single thing I wrote down on that entry form. Are these contest entry forms being sold off to time share companies and other companies we want nothing to do with? I never expected something like this to happen from trying to win some new toys, or shampoo, or product for my little dog. It is upsetting.

Well, I do want to say that this isnt a scam, even though it may sound like it. I spent over an hour on the phone with a representative before I gave up my credit card information. The only gimmick is that you have to visit the location for them to attempt to sell you a timeshare, but even if you dont buy it then they still give you the free stay.  I signed up in the mall a loooooong time ago and they called several months later.  If you have never been, I would assure you to go. Beautiful place and def a great free advantage that I am glad I took advantage of!

Repeated calls from somebody who thinks I'm stupid enough to give my credit card number to an obvious scammer (anybody who CALLS YOU out of the blue and asks for a credit card number is an obvious scammer). Some calls were as late as 10:30 PM!
