They called my wife's cell phone offering some sort of deal from Time Warner.  We already get a bill from TWC every month, so I think if we need any other services the bill is a good enough reminder.

She told them she did not need what they were selling, yet they call her back every night.  I would like to thank Chris in San Antonio for posting the Phoneaware Inc. information.  I Googled them and found out I ride by their building every day on my commute.  

I think I'll pay them a visit on behalf of everyone who has posted here.

For the past three days, I have gotten a call from this number at about 8 o'clock.  Similar to everyone else, I don't answer and they don't leave a message.  I decided to give google a try and typed the phone number in and I found this forum.  So, it's Time Warner, I should have figured.  I called the TW San Diego offices and spoke with an operator.  She acted like she didn't know exactly what I was talking about.  But, she said she would tell "marketing" that I want them to stop mailing me ads and calling me.  Hopefully, this stops the stalking.

I keep getting this call.  They just hang up when I answer.  Why don't they say anything, and why do they keep calling

Please file complaints on donotcall.gov.  If they get in trouble, maybe they'll stop doing it.  I filed a complaint, then sent a strongly worded email to the President of the company, then got an email back from their VP of Operations (jrochford@phonewareinc.com) that they would stop calling me.  I haven't heard from them since.

Received several calls from this number.  Tried to pick a couple of times, always no response.

I just reported them to donotcall.gov, and I encourage everyone who is getting called by them to do the same.

They call me everyday, usually in the evening

I have been getting this stupid number calling me for over two weeks now, it was once a week and now its at least once a day sometimes more.  Answer, they hang up.  I'm so over it.  I thought it was a friend calling me from a landline since I live in San Diego.  It's such a nuisance!

Same here.  After getting about 10 of these without picking up, I finally picked up and got a male voice who asked for my name.  I said, "Speaking," and then they hung up.  The next time I got a female voice who also hung up.  If it's a scam, it's unclear what their business plan is....maybe they're trying to prey on older people or something and they give up on young sounding voices?

I dialled the phone back and got a barely understandable message about it being some sort of call center for "Fortune 500 Companies."

Calls are being handled by a call center called PHONE WARE.  Basically, their specialty is TELEMARKETING.

I say we give them a taste of their own medicine and saturate their inboxes and voicemails with endless messages.  This company is actually ONE MILE from my office.  I think I'll pay them a visit with my fist.  Ughhh!!!!

Ok I followed a couple of people's advice and contacted Jim at Phone Ware.  Below is the e-mail I got from him.  I hope it works.

I quit today from my employer of phone ware inc. it is telemarketing but they do have the right to call you it's not a list like usual. Verizon Timewarner are their two biggest customers they pay phone ware inc to do the telmarketing to sell upgrades so verizon and them don't have to, verizon sends phone ware the info to call you and sell you crap.

The company is "PhoneWare" 800-243-8329. Call them and tell them the same thing I did. "Remove my number from your list or I will reach thru the phone and rip your face off"

I actually answered this call.  They claimed to be calling to go over my Verizon Wireless account.

Called wanting to get my credit card number to verify my mobile phone was up to date. Except he said he was from a different provider than mine.

When I said I didn't have a mobile, he said "bite me, bi**h" and hung up.

Here is what I hope everyone does.......I contacted PhoneWare inc which is who is making the call. I advised them I filed a complaint with the FTC (do not call). I also advised that if this didnt stop I would persue further action. Their # is 1800-243-8329.

They call and when I answer they hang up.  I have *69 and that is how I found out that the repeat calls are from the same California phone number.

Received a call from this number did not answer, but they have been calling me almost every other day I was wondering who it could be and now thanks to everyone posting I am finding out it is telemarketers calling.  I too have registered my cell with the DO NOT CALL, but I am still getting these.
