- Chris Thomas replies to BellaNow that doesn't happen! I don't work at Phoneware Inc any longer & I'm not a big fan but none of the services they sale require anyone on the phone to give a credit card number.
- nene replies to Chris SA TXMy Friend works for Phone Ware Inc and they are contracted for MANY different phone, internet and cable companies to do sales campaigning on behalf of the company they are contracted with. I tried working there for about a month and sales is not my thing, but the numbers are not dialed by people they are on an auto dialer that connects to the rep once someone picks up. Once someone told us to put them on our DNC (do not call) list their number was removed from the dialer but not everyone knows to do this...and if the person did not answer when we called the dialer would automatically call back until either the rep left a message or spoke with someone on the phone...crazy. what was really frustrating (I am sure for the consumer just as much as the rep) was that someones number can be included in one group such as time warner, but also included in another group such as verizon which are both calling out from phone ware but from completely different departments, so this may be why the number shows up multiple times. The calling structure is very annoying, but they are not scammers or anything they are just a company who contracts for sales and customer service for various companies. anyway if you answer and ask to be called on the DNC list this should solve the problem...
- mr bill replies to Phone Warehi, i have an interview with phone ware tomorrow. what's it really like and how much do you usually earn? is it hard sell?
- SL replies to Scam BusterAcutally I happen to work there you jerk, while I'm attending college classes to get my bachelors. By the way, it's actually not a scam. Phoneware is hired by cable companies to inform customers of promotional prices on the cable services and while the calls may get annoying from time to time they are NOT scams. There is NO stolen information. Try verifying with your cable company idiot.
- SL replies to Scam BusterSome of the people who work there do so while attending school. One person who worked there recieved a degree in engineering while doing so. What do you do for a living? I'm in the process of recieving a degree myself while I work there. If anyone is getting "scammed" it's by the cable company itself. Phoneware is simply a vendor hired by the cable companies, they only sell what the cable company tells them too. Oh and by the way companies such as Time Warner are the ones who process credit card info directly. So for all you bloggers sitting on your *** at home saying "these people" are losers should perhaps re-evaluate your own lives and achievements or lack there of.
- LeeReceived a call from "Vic" claiming to be a representative of Verizon. He wanted to sign me up on some sort of long distance plan. I repeatedly told him no. He became rude so I hung up on him.
- Caller: unknown
- southerner15Amazes me how often they call--never answered or wasn't home.
- phoneware employee replies to J in CAim actually looking at the complaints that you guys have with phoneware and it sounds horrible. i work for them and this is a legit business that does do the promotions for twc. i go there everyday and if it wasnt real dont you think that we would know before anyone else? the building is full of items from the co. and they pay us to call you. if you werent so rude when we called you and immediately hung up on us then maybe youd see for yourself that it isnt a scam and that we would actually be able to save you on what your currently subscribing to and save you some money.
i wanna actually see how many people read this and respond with something that sounds so horrible.and by the way did twc ever say that we were scamming you? - BlazEThe calls are legit....look at it this way....when you call verizon to get help with your bill or a problem with your phone service, do you want to sit on hold for a longer amount of time than you already do? if you don't then thank phoneware, cuz if verizon didnt have them doing the marketing calls for them , you would never ever be able to reach a customer service rep at verizon to talk about your issue....
- VWThey are back at it!

- Call type: Telemarketer
- chuy replies to Chris SA TXAny company that has their "utilities" running through your house can call you just to check how your services are doing. While your phone number may be registered on the FCC do not call list, it doesn't apply to your gas, electric, water, cable, phone, internet or other internal house services used in their designated area. It applies to the company and any third party that they allow permission to call on behalf of them. I used to sell cable door to door and it wasn't soliciting for this very same reason.
- chuy replies to Scam BusterWhen you warn people of scams it's important to know what you're talking about. If you go from saying " I wouldn't doubt if this number is also tied to IDL/ILD services." to "760-526-8134...they're all SCAMMERS represented by IDL/ILD" you're just making it harder for some legitimate workers to make a sale. When you skeptics research this number don't believe the guy above. (760) is a San Diego based area code where Phoneware is located. It has no ties with (772) which is an East Florida area code. Phoneware has nothing to do with any telecommunications business in Florida.
Phoneware does get permission from not only Time Warner to call their customers. and cable companies nationwide as well. It seems like this guy is simply traumatized by telemarketers. But as an ex employee from the company I can say it's completely legit and they don't rip any one off. On top of this your cable company records and monitors the calls the sales reps make. So you get exactly what you're told you're getting.
