So what. If they can't sue then they have no recourse. I believe that is what these people are referring to. Let the [***] call. Not a damn thing they can do and can't even effect your credit any longer.

I finally called them back and said "Who are you, why are you calling, and what do I need to do to stop it?" She asked my name, I told her, and she said "Sorry, we have the wrong number." Maybe shouldn't have given her my name, but hopefully now it will stop.

So what about the people that live in states with an SOL longer than 7 years that can be sued?  What if one of them comes here, reads that trash post with all that misinformation, relies on it and gets sued?  Hmm?  What about those people?  Mr. "I have all the answers"?

Number just called me today and no message was left. If they are a legit business, why are they not leaving a message? That's what real business do...right!

They keep calling for another person. Tell them I've had this number 8 years and it's not the person they are calling, wrong number. They say they will update the record but calls still come.

Don't bother to read and thus don't learn how to stop those calls permanently, in which case you have no reason to complain.  Or read, and solve your problem. Your choice.

They called my place of business.  When I took the call I told them that Cindy was not available.  I tried to get a message so that Cindy could call them back.  They declined to leave a message.  I have no idea who they are or why they are calling my place of business.

I had the same thing happen to me. Paid off a couple accounts they had of mine, they took care of one but not the other that I paid and now keep calling me. I've talked to them several times trying to resolve the issue and get no where with them.

I Never pick up unknown numbers changing number sounds like a drastic idea but it does work.

Trying collect a balance supposedly owed on a car repossessed in 2003!!!  Scum bags!!

Portfolio calls all the time from different numbers for a girl that used to work here.   I've told them repeatedly she no longer works here, and they say they will take this number off their list, but they still call back asking for her.   I know who she is, and I know she doesn't have the money to pay her bills right now.   I feel for her cuz she was let go from here when her car broke down and she couldn't get to work, but now I can't get her bill collectors to quit calling.

Reading many of these comments, on MANY different sites for MANY different phone numbers, I think they do not leave a message because they want to ACTUALLY talk to you not to a recorder.  One comment was a woman told them she owed nothing, and they said, "we have contacted you and you have been warned".  Take that as you will but what recourse they have AFTER talking to you I really don't know.  Just keep calling?  Every call I get from every different number, I block.  I bought a "BLOCKY" on eBay cheap, and it blocks 1,500 numbers.  That should keep them away for awhile.  Keep the Faith.
