Collection agency calls multiple times a day from multiple numbers.  Has offices in USA, India and Phillipines.

keep getting calls from 1-777-888-9999 no one their or auto co.

Got a call from this number. It was George Washington Univ. Hospital (DC) wanting me to pre-register for a procedure. Since I was slated for a procedure next week, I gave them all of my personal information that I could over the phone ... naw ... I actually have an online way to pre-register so I am doing that instead. But why would they call me with a spoofed number like this? I told them I would pre-register online and they verified my apointment time. I will never give personal info over a spoofed number. It was GWU for sure tho because they had info that only they could kow.

this number just called, lady looking for the previous owner of my number (from years ago) so it's probably a collector or something.

They use caller id spoofing. They make up some random phone number (like 777-888-9999) and make it show up on whoever they're calling's caller id. There is only 1 way to stop them calling. Pick up the phone they call you on and dial *607778889999.  It should block the number from calling you. From now on, once you dial that number above only once, whenever they try to call you they will get cut off automatically and they will just give up, and thats what you want, right?
