- Yvonne ChristensenOct 18 2010 @ 3:30 p.m. I got a call from this number. "Dave" wanted to know if I paid more or less than 5% interest on my mortgage. I told him it was my business not his and he went on to explain that "Yes, it was his business..." I tried to interupt and tell him to stop phoning me, but he kept talking over me. Finally I said "Goodbye" and hung up. This is the second time he's called me at home.
I received a call from some one that sounded very much like him on my private work line. The first call he asked for Yvonne Christian. I told him it was the wrong numbher and not to call as this was a business phone. He called back, got my name right and when I said "Speaking" he replied "I found you, I found you!" "What do you want?" (I asked) "I want to....." I think what he replied was rude, but in truth the connection and his accent were so bad I couldn't understand what he said. If it was "Dave", I am very concerned because it means that he (or someone in his company) specifically looked me up on the Alberta provincial government employee listing website.
At any rate, getting a second call at home from this moron is starting to feel like harrassment.- Caller: ABC Mortgage

- VANCOUVER BCThe 778 area code Fido number I have a cell phone that start's with this area code
in the lower mainland hope this help's - The FMGi PortalOk, I recently got a phone call from this guy... picked it up.. guy asked for Mr/Mrs [Surname] so, I told him to call back later, did research for the number and found it to be a Iristel Number which is based in Toronto. The caller was Middle - Eastern and had problems speaking in English.
Like many of you guys, I am also getting tired of getting telemarketers phoning every day, which is why I've actually done something about it. The Do Not Call list, did not help at all, and actually I think that the number of calls I've gotten has increased after I put my number on that list. What has helped block many of these calls is a normal cordless phone with a Call Block feature. This feature allows you to input any number of your choice, and when that number calls (providing you have caller ID) the phone will automatically check that number, and if it is marked as blocked, the number will be disconnected. I have many blocked numbers on my phone, and it has helped. I almost get no telemarketers calling at all. A nice phone with this feature is the Panasonic KX TG9331T. This is the phone that I currently have, and it works great.
@VANCOUVER BC... All of the telephone numbers in British Columbia start with 778 or 604, now all the 778 numbers can't belong to Fido. It is just a area code, which can belong to any telecommunications company. It does NOT have to be a mobile number, as I've seen many people with a 778 landline number. - CalgaryThey have been calling me regularly.
I have the number call blocked now. - BobToyotaI work inbound calls for a Toyota dealership in the Northeast US. I see British Columbia on caller ID. Not unusual, as we get calls from Canada regularly for pre-owned vehicles. I answer, guy says (in a very heavy Indian accent) "This Andy Williams, I live in Chicago, my family lives in #### (the next town over from the dealership) I am moving back to the area and need the Sales Manager's email address" Told him I could help with any sales questions. He insisted he only needed the email address. Asked are you looking for new or used. He asked if we had used told him yes. He asked if we had any new, told him this is a Toyota dealership we have many new vehicles. He again asked for the email address. I asked him, "If your from Chicago, why does the caller ID say BC" He said he didn't know. Asked him for his phone number so that I could get back to him. He said this is his business number and again asked for the email address. I asked him if he had an extension I could reach him at. He said he would call again and hung up. He talked really fast and was somewhat hard to understand and it sounded like he was calling from a call center, judging by the activity in the background. Sounded like a phishing expedition. I really enjoy messing with [***] like him.
- LDInitial call handler quickly handed me off to "Neil" the manager. Neil said he was calling from A Quick Morgage or maybe Agrec Mortgage. After asking a few more questions (I was vague with the answers) he wanted to set aside a later time for a call back from a mortgage specialilst. I thought about it, just to get more info from these jokers, but declined.
There IS in fact an A-Quick Mortgage company in Surrey BC. Different phone number, but I wonder if they are using an Indean call center to drum up business.

- AlI couldn't make out the name of the company because the guy's accent is so thick. Told him they need to do research because there was no residence at the number they called. (Well, not completely a lie because they're calling about mortgages and you don't have a mortgage with an apartment rental.) The number is a BC number so hopefully the fact they called me in violation of the Do Not Call Registry will get them into trouble.

- Rudolph SchenkerI love this one... The last time I told the "gentleman" with poor english skills that someone was at our door. I put him on the speaker and turned up the volume and proceeded to do my daily chores within the house. It's always fun to see how long it takes to hear the "click" and then the loud phone company signal of our phone being "off the hook". This prick lasted almost 6 minutes on hold -- He hasn't called back lately though. Try this ploy -- It works well. We even have a wireless doorbell button near the kitchen phone so when ***holes like this phone (especially at meal times) we push the button and they can hear the doorbell in the background and then we ask them to hold while we go "answer the door".......Too funny! Have some fun and drive these wastes of skin crazy at the same time!
RS - found himColes notes: I too was received many phone calls from this phone number, they would usually hang up but tonight they answered. They were asking about mortgages and what my current rates were, they mentioned they were calling from "A Quick Mortgage". A little bit of research showed that the company is a legitimate mortgage company from Surrey, BC, Canada but their website does not have a single contact name or phone number. More digging showed that this company is owned by a gentleman named Jasdeep Sandhu and he runs a one man operation, I found his contact number on the mortgage brokers association of BC but the contact info they have was wrong. I finally found the right contact info on BC's Better Business Bureau, Jasdeep Sandhu did in fact answer the phone and admit he owns "A Quick Mortgage". When I asked him if he used telemarketers for his business his answer was "Yes we use a telemarketing company to generate leads". I told him I'm on the do not call list and they called me anyways, his response was that they screen calls against the do not call list and I shouldn't be getting those calls. Here is his information if anyone wants to call and complain to him personally:

I got one from this # this aft and when I asked VERY POLITELY to be taken off their calling list he just kept going with his spiel.
When I asked a little more loudly........ he hung up! LOL - Big Al Jones replies to shadowraeIf these are indeed call centre calls originating from INDIA, then these people are INDIAN not EAST INDIAN!!!
There is no such thing as East Indian. Don't give me the BS about 'Native Indians'.
They are NOT Indians of any kind. They are natives of Canada, USA and the Americas.
Call them by their tribal names if you must.
Get it through your thick skulls......people from India or related to India are INDIANS!!!! - RSI thinks its the poolice tapping phone lines
