Just got this phone call with the big "CONGRATULATIONS" begining voice after 4-5 second of waiting for computer- machine to start talking. I hung up right away, it is obvious scam for steeling identity and personal info.

me too i just got the call from this number so many times ,its really obuse its a scam.it said CONGRATULATION YOU WON.and then thay ask abount your information regarding if you have your criditcard ang they ask about your information,so i hanged it up and never answer it again WEIRD REALLY WEIRD......

"Congratulations, because you are a valued Air Canada customer you have won ..." based on other people's comments, the telemarketer throws in names of reputable companies to make it sound legitimate. And who hasn't been a customer of Air Canada or Costco at one time. Forget it and hang up, better you do your own shopping and comparing vacation offers than buy into something sight unseen. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

My phone rang just now, and when I saw this number I hit the red button and did not pick up..

If the call again keep saying the same thing.  I had to do it with another company I finally said if the didnt stop calling I would charge them.  I stopped.

I received a phone call from number 1-778-945-9898 on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 7:32 pm.  Since I do not knolw anybody with that number, I checked on the Internet and found out that (1) 778 is a new area code for BC, which I didn't know until today, and (2) that 1-778-945-9898 is apparently a spam number.

N.B. I did not have time to reply, by the time I made it to my cellphone, the caller had already hung up.

Got a message from them saying "air canada special prize, press 1" etc.... I didn`t say anything or press anything and they hung up...

Thanks for all your postings, i too just got this call but didn't answer it on my Rogers Cell, i never answer calls that I don't know who it is (call display).

Simple phone fraud. Spoofing a number for call display that is not in service and claiming to be from some company that has nothing to do with "Cancuncalling" is fraud. They use many different phone numbers from many different area codes but the numbers are easy to spot. I don't have time to play games and waste the scammers time when they call or I would.

Usually calls in the evening very annoying especially calling around 8 or 9 in the evening on work nights. File complaints at the CRTC website, when enough people complain only then will something be done about these annoying freaken calls.

Got a caal this morning on my cell phone, call was not answered

two calls in two days!

Scam artists calling once more on my cell during work... not wanted... spoke to "gentleman" on other end, told him to put me on his do not call list (they never do). After some words, he said he would call back next week.

Calls are currently being routed through: Area: Vancouver (Downtown Area), BC (British Columbia) Exchange: 778-945-XXXX (Shaw Telecom Inc) Phone Company: SHAW TELECOM INC... if you want to stop this, pressure the telecos from leasing space to them!

Pressed 1, spoke to guy, said I had won a trip etc etc.  He was hard to understand so could not make out from what company or trip to where.  Started asking him to repeat what he was telling me and he hung up.  I called back and the number is not in service.  How do they do that?  Call from a line that's not in service?

I got a call from the same number but this time they said because I was a valued Air Canada customer I have won.....I just hung up...last time it was "you are a values Costco customer".....
