Amazingly they're still calling at least once a day during the week.

Thank goodness for the ability to auto-block calls from certain numbers.

Got the same call. Said case being downloaded to my county... we don't even have counties where I live.

Wow, these scammers never cease to amaze me! I received a call today from James Johnson, also. This was a new name to go with the new phone number! Usually, it is a call from Karen Rogers/Rodgers! I am thinking they will never give up. They have been calling me almost everyday, sometimes two or three times a day, since last March or April. It is kind of a blur right now. I am constantly adding new numbers to my Call Blocker! These people are scammers and low-life scum! Do not give them any money.  

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I received multiple calls from this number on my personal phone and my google voice number both stating that there was something that involved my SS# and bank account. I called back and as soon as I started asking with whom am I speaking, what's the name of this company, they hung up. I called back close to 20 times within a 10 minute period got hung up on multiple times, finally spoke with "Steven" and he tried to assure me that this was a legitament company and that was I was reading on this website wasn't true and people like to get online and just say stuff.... Really? People will take there time to just report random phone calls? I'm not. I'm annoyed, so I kept calling until they told me I was harassing them! I asked them to remove my number so hopefully I won't hear from them again.

got the same call from james Johnson two weeks ago called back with same [***] about the case being downloaded in my county first off he said that several months ago. then I got a call today from Rachael roth informing me off the same [***] case her number was 305-600-3788.

Same call today. What do I do?
