This number has called landline and cell- we are not do not call list

Yep - got one today - this is a new variation - 'they' received a report that my microsoft license has been deactivated, probably the result of a hacker, asked if I on the computer right now and they started to give me my 'license number' but clicked off part way through. Never got around to asking for anything though. Powered computer down and later ran a virus scan just to be sure.

I have received a phone call from the number (787) 676-5656 telling me that I broke some laws and
I need to pay $300.00 "in order to waive the penalty".

That happened today 11/5/2014  at 8:30 A.M.

It was the a female voice. As I understand, they are a  gang of crooks whose main activity consists in trying to blackmail people by using both the internet and the telephone.

NO DON'T GET A LIFE GUARD WHISTLE BETTER TO GET A BOAT HORN.

There was a time I would have supported this idea. But then I realized it was a rather immature thing to do.

This number just called me but stopped ringing before I picked up.  I am so tired of these scammer calls every day.  I just wish they could get another worth while job.  I am just sick and tired of false IRS people and false people to fix computers.  And others that just want you to make a donation.  Hey I need a donation also.  

Called at 7.30 AM I am also tired of these calls.  I am on the do not call list.  But that does not matter to scammers.

Puerto Rico Really!! - I  am fed up with humans & their lousy scams. Get a real job & leave all the rest of us alone.  DO NOT CALL LIST IS A JOKE:(

rcd a call from an individual who said my computer has been hacked by the Russians and that he wanted to "verify my computer ID"..  He indicated he was calling from CA when I asked to speak to a supervisor he laughed I refused to provide him with any info and hung up.  The number he was calling from is 7876765656 (it appears this is a Pureto Rico ). Acccording to my research I'm not the only one who has received a call from that number.  If you received a call from that number please do not give out any personal info etc.    

I just got one using exactly that script.  

I've spent 25 years repairing computers for a living, so I played along, knowing that I WOULDN'T run any dangerous commands.  His knowledge of what answers would show up from netstat, etc, would have been VERY convincing to someone who doesn't do this for a living.  He said I needed to change my network settings & such to correct my problems.  After I told him that I was paranoid about hacking/malware he asked if I wanted to be transferred to higher level tech support.  So I played along again, and a funny thing happened -  he "transferred" it by disconnecting.  I DID succeed in wasting about 1/2 hour of his time, though.

I had received a panicked call from a customer a few days ago, EXACTLY matching the call I just received - which was part of the reason I played along.  She was smart enough to hang up on him when he wanted her to run Team Viewer to let him remotely "correct" her problem.  Not KNOWING that she hadn't allowed him to talk her into anything else, I went to her house and verified that her computer is still clean.

Called at 7:57 AM after I said hello 3 times some [***] who could hardly speak English asked for me and when I said speaking and asked him if he knew what time it is he than hung up .... I get enough [***] calling during proper business hours let alone over an hour early.

Got a call from this number on Thanksgiving day.  Scammers just have no respect.

Next time they call, tell them your cell is out of battery and tell them to call your other number, but give them the local police number.

She,  in a foreign accent,  calls before 8 am.  It is a cell number.  I told her that she isn't allowed to call that early and hung up.

It is just another day to the rest of the world.

Has called over a dozen times in the past few days. Once at 5:45 a.m.!!! Another time at 11 p.m.
Got tired of the calling so I picked up the line and played a loop of Johnny W's Tarzan yell until they hung up. After 3 calls they have given up for the night.... so far!
If the NSA can track every call we citizens make why can't they shut down crooks outside of the White House?

these people have called here 4 times today--telling me something is wrong with my computer when I asked them which one they hung up--another one I told I am on the do not call list and he said -so what-told him not to call again----how can I get them to stop calling ?

Scam - company says they are "windows" and your computer ID has been deactivated. They want you to log in and enter a string of numbers that will ultimately give them control over your computer. If you hand up on them they will call you right back (sometimes several times over a very short period of time).
