I pressed one just to see what it was all about and I told him a different name and they asked for my real name which makes me believe that they have a list of phone numbers with our names and address and phone

I received a call from : 1-800 068 1111.
A recorded message stated that my social security benefits will be suspended due to fraudulent activity and the possibility that someone has stolen my number. It stated for me to press 1 to speak to an officer. I suspected a spam call so I pressed one so I could get their information and report them to SSI. I get a foreign speaking female on the line and I ended the call.

Complete scam. I actually went ahead and pressed 1 to talk to someone, knowing it was a scam. When I asked where he was calling from, he said Social Security.  I asked his name, address, and phone number. He refused. I said impersonations a government official is a felony and I needed his information to report him. He then said “[***] yourself” and hung up. I am now in the habit of picking up all these calls, asking them for lots of information, telling them I intend to report them. They don’t call back.

I my phone said scam likely, but sometimes it’s not a scam. I answered as thank you for calling this is *****. And all I heard was goodbye.

Received this call today and pressed 1 and told the man whom I couldnt understand at all that if they called me again that i would press charges, then i continued to let them know that I knew they were a scam. He was getting very upset with me and i laughed then hung up!!

Against whom are you going to press charges?

Well, considering this is clearly a spoofed number, your phone should have said "scam definitely." No phone number area code or prefix in North America begins with a 0 or a 1. If you see such a number, you know it's been spoofed and thus the call is a scam.

Same as everyone else reporting here. Amusing how they want you to press 1 to make sure YOU are a real person before they are willing to put on their real person...

Robocall voicemail recording claimed that social security account was being used for illegal activities in my state, stated "press 1 to speak to an officer now." Likely a scam.

message was computerized. however, the message apparently records at the end of the message.  Might be the same as other reports on this number.  the message was this:  "...repeat please press one to speak to the officer right away. Thank you."
