caller left a message with my mom, stating caller's name (jessica), phone number and extention

Just leaves message to call back with a long reference number, no clue what this is about or who they are.

These [***] keep calling and leaving thier number... They just don't get it! When you've lost everything and you're living in your van, they're BEAT! Next stop, bankruptcy court! Take THAT UCB! Hee hee heeeeeee!

Please do not ever, ever call them back! if you do not want to be their next fraud victim.

Claims to be a collection agency. They left multiple messages over several weeks, but never say who they are calling for. I don't owe anything and have immaculate credit rating.

I got a call from united collection at 10:56 am they left a message but they was talking so fast I couldn't understand them but I think it's a scammer whoever you are don't call here again or I will report you to the either to the FCC or to the police do you understand

I got a call from 1 800 - 210-3534 at 5:42 pm on April 3 2019 they call but they don't leave a message whoever you are my house phone number is on the national no call regristery I will report your number to them which I already have I will press charges against you if you call my house phone again believe me I will do it do you understand

The DNC applies to telemarketers. This appears to be a debt collector so it doesn't apply to them.

I've received two messages from someone claiming to be from United Collections and that I need to call them back. There is no mention of what company is using them so I believe it is a scam. Also it is my understanding that reputable collection companies write and bill you referencing what company has hired them to make collections. These messages from out of the blue seem like a scam to me.

Debt Collector... I owe so many people money it isnt' funny.   Pay your bills people!   lol

Theyr'e not allowed to say who they rep.  it violates privacy.   if you only owe one bill then you know who it is.  If you owe more than one then call them back to find out.  :-P

My, you seem to just be a huge cheerleader for this criminal outfit.  It doesn't matter if you "know who it is".  What matters, and this is what the law says, they must prove both that you owe it and that they have the legal right to collect it.  I have already posted a link about this outfit and what should be done.

it’s 11:00 am and i received a call from this number and they were asking about my mother and i was very confused so me being confused i willingly gave them my mothers number 10 minutes go by and i realized it never said where they were from so i looked at the caller ID and it said unknown i just looked at this site and i just told my mother not to call them or answer

They called looking for my former daughter-in-law, who never lived at my address/phone and who hasn't had my last name for over 10 years.  They may be a "legitimate" debt collection agency but I'll bet they're one of those that buy up ancient accounts that have already been written off by the original lenders and then harass anyone who even comes close to matching the debtor's demographics.

"ancient accounts that have already been written off by the original lenders"  Not illegal and "written off" is an accounting term.  Contracts can be assigned which is what happens in this case.  The full amount of the contract is then due and payable to the assignee.

Now "harass anyone who even comes close to matching the debtor's demographics" is the illegal part.  Which is why there is a post in this thread that tells you what to do about it.

"Missed" a call from this number today. When called back from a different phone, a human immediately answers with, "Hello, this call will be recorded. You have reached UCB. This is <name removed>, how can I help you today?"

Several calls no message. Called back, said they were trying to collect a debt. Said we gave no debt, then mention a cc we closed over 15 yrs ago. I said fine, send proof of the debt and your authorization to collect and we will talk. They said they couldnt provide that. I said we have nothing to talk about then. Haven't received any "proof" to date, but they call at least once a week. I've blocked the number. Never said the name of company.
