Called saying there was fraud on my account, and pretending to be boa. It's a scam, I work for BOA and this number is not used by us.  If you get a call hang up its a scam.

Got call supposedly from BofA's fraud department. I called number on back on my card. This number is not one that is on their list of phone numbers. Call the number on the back of your card. Possible spamming call.

"this is a real number. Bank of American handles card services for Fidelity and others hence why they dont say a name. But it is legit."

To be on the safe side, I believe people should call the number on their statement or the website. There are too many scams out there that display false caller id information to take a chance.

This is a number for a confirmed fraudster trying to scam you out of your information. The individuals in this post trying to persuade you otherwise that it is from bank of america are trying to lie to the general public that it is okay. I have already confirmed with Bank of America that this is a fake number from a fake entity.

Do not call back or give information to the individual from this number.

Received call today, claimed to be from BofA and that there was suspicious activity on card. Called number on back of card, it is a scam.

Got the same call, they have the last 4 numbers, the full name, and yes, we changed our mailing address yesterday.
BofA needs to get this fixed, it gives them a bad name in my estimation.

THIS IS NOT BANK OF AMERICA!!!  It's a scam to steal peoples' credit card info.  Taped message alleges 'possible fraud on your credit card' and they have your real name & last 4 credit card's digits - but don't be fooled.

CID="CRD SRVS FRAUD" & CID number is "424-342-7635" but it's phony (no callback possible).  Message says to call back at 800-214-7027. BofA verified to me that this is a fraud.

ALSO, DON"T BE FOOLED BY LOW LIFE TROLLS IN THIS FORUM SAYING IT'S A LEGIT NUMBER; they're probably part of this thief operation.  They should be shot dead along with the perpetrators of this scheme.

How much are you being paid by these thieves?  Sympathizers of con artists have been thrown into ovens for doing less.

    That Guy in Tampa
This was a confirmed attempt to steal identity and/or financial information from me.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT I CALLED BOA FROM THE NUMBER ON MY CARD AND THEY DENY THIS NUMBER IS ONE OF THEIRS****PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THEY HAD MY CORRECT NAME AND LAST 4 DIGIT OF MY BOA CARD**

~I URGE YOU TO CALL YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION BY USING KNOWN NUMBERS ONLY~

Call originated from 813-563-4404 (BOA rep advises not a BOA number)(Intelius advises not a valid number: ie: Spoofed)

Missed a call and it went to voicemail:  transcript is:
Hello, this is the Bank of America fraud department with a message for yeah, (MyFirstName, Lastname)  yeah he would like you to verify recent account activity on your account ending in (xxxx). We need to speak to you at your earliest convenience. Please call us back. At, 1(800) 214-7027. Again, that's Bank of America at, 1(800) 214-7027. Thank you. Goodbye.

Similar to "Killtelscammers" and "That Guy in Tampa".

CID="LA PUENTE, CA" and CID # is (626)709-3661. Transcript is the same as "That Guy in Tampa" except the name and last four digits of the card, and urged me to call ASAP (not to 626.709.3661, but) to (800) 214-7027. I did not call but go to 800notes.com to check instead. (Thanks to those who posted comments here!)

Question is, how do these scammers know our name and last four digits of the card? Does this imply that B of A's computer system is hacked or data base compromised? Seems scary! Should we close the account and get a new one?

The voicemail said it was from Bank of America and accurately provided the last four digits of my credit card.  Rather than call the number they provided (800-214-7027), I called one of the credit card phone number listed on the website.  BOA confirmed that they had tried to contact me to verify a recent change to our phone number.  So the voicemail and 800-214-7027 are legitimate.

anyone who says 800-214-7027 is legit BOA, is LYING. I called the number, they hung up on me when asked for their last name, which any LEGITIMATE BOA fraud rep will give you.

These people here who claim they called and its a legit number, are probably affiliated with the scammers.  I called BOA, and they said 800-214-7027 is not, and never has been affiliated in ANY WAY with BOA.  They are calling initially from a number out of Richwoods, MO, 573-342-4312, which caller ID shows as "CRD SRVCS FRAUD", although this is throw away number.  If you sit on hold and wait till they answer, takes 20-30 minutes and after repeated "Please Enter your Credit Card Number for Verification", and its a poor quality computer generated message, an "Allison" finally picked up and said, "Fraud Department, Allison Speaking".  When I told her I wanted her last name,  she said, "Last Name not available." Really? That's the best you scammers could come up with?  I recorded the conversation and sent it with my formal complaint to the Missouri Attorney General's Office.  I hope they call me again.

Don't try to call back to 800-214-7027, they put you on a long hold; it's a lot easier and quicker (and maybe safer) to call your own credit card's fraud department using the phone number printed on the back of the card.
I called the fraud department at the number printed on my credit card. (FIA Card Services doing business as Fidelity Mastercard). They confirmed that the automated call, which I had received from 800-214-7027, was a legitimate automated notification that I had changed the phone number on my account.
