- Henry M| 1 replyWow you people are paranoid. If you want to check up on this, don't try to call back 800-214-7027. Call your own credit card company's customer service department using the phone number printed on the back of your card. I did that and my company (FIA Card Services doing business as Fidelity Investments MasterCard) confirmed that this was just an automated call to notify me that I had changed the phone number on my account, which I had done a day earlier. It is legitimate.
- Caller: representing Fidelity MasterCard
- AvalonCalled B of A at their regular number. They have no knowledge of this phone number, nor anybody calling me. In spite of what anyone says here, this is a scam.
- Caller: Scammer, purports to be Bank of America
- Deni replies to Jessie| 2 repliesNot a legit call. Do yourself a favor, call the number ON YOUR CREDIT CARD and ask if this number is affiliated with BOA - the answer is NO IT IS NOT!
- BillGot a automated call from someone saying they were from BOA, said they wanted to confirm changes in our phone #. Total scam. Hang up and call your card holder directly
- Caller: BOA
- HaroldChanged phone number one day ago. Received voice mail identifying as "Bank of American Fraud Department" and asked me to call back this number. Called instead phone number on credit card, spoke with Fraud Department, and they were not aware of this phone number and denied trying to reach me. It's possible I judged too quickly because I read the earlier reports and advised the representative that I suspected a scam to which she agreed. In the end, I do not have confirmation that the phone number given is legitimate.
- Caller: Bank of America
- Val| 1 replyI called Bank of America using the phone number on the back of my credit card and they did not issue any call or need to confirm any information with me. The rep checked my account and to see if anything was flagged and confirmed everything was fine with my account. Total Scam!
For those who gave out their information thinking it was legit, hopefully it does not bite you in the behind. But please stop telling people to trust automated messages not associated with BofA.- Caller: Scam Artist
- CelticDragon replies to ValExactly. If they were REALLY BofA, don't you think they would have that information already?
- Gary replies to Anonym| 1 replyI'm not a troll. Same deal for me. I did not give out any information even though they asked for my whole credit card number, but then called the number on the back of my card the following morning and they said the call was legit. I updated my phone number for the card a couple days ago. So this is why they called me.
- not dupedLike most people said, it is not Bank of America though the caller/recording said they were from BOA. I called BOA to report the fraudulent call and tell them the last 4 digits of the acct being "phished". BOA woman with a heavy southern twang told me "We caint really do nuthin about that. We get that all the time. If it was a email [her grammar not mine] we could help." Her advice was do not call the number. I knew that already.
- Caller: scammer
- dkA number from Lakeland Florida 813-563-4404 called and left a message to call 800-214-7027 to discuss fraudulent activity on a credit card with certain 4 last digits. I do not have such credit card. During the first call they would not divulge anything prior to getting my personal information. I hung up, checked the internet and called them back accusing them of scamming. They became very friendly and started giving me name of the bank I have a credit card with. I told them I am reporting them and hung up

Shills have been spamming this site claiming they received "legitimate" calls in an attempt to bolster the fraud. - Bert replies to Jim Munk| 2 repliesThis turned out to be a legitimate number after calling Bank of America and getting their Fraud Department to verify. However, if you are unsure, it is always best to call the number on the back of your credit card.
- TheRealSeriously replies to BertCaller ID spoofing-Google is your friend
- Graham replies to DeniIt is legit, calling to verify informational charges to your account
- ccrider replies to BertWrong!!! 800-214-7027 is NOT the fraud dept # for Bank of America! YOU WERE SCAMMED!!!!!
- JohnDefinitely fraud. I confirmed with Bank of America. The posts saying it's legit are wrong - probably the faudsters trying to perpetuate their scam
- Caller: fraud
- DitzThey called me saying that they wanted to verify some suspicious activity on my credit card and even name the last 4 of the card. They say they are from Bank of America and this is from a Bank of America card but I don't use this card and have a zero balance with no authorizations. The sounds like fraud and I'm calling my credit card to report the information
- Caller: Fraud
- AFDThis # is a scam. Caller (computer) left a message "This is Bank of America fraud department informing (me) of fraudulent activity on your credit card ending in (correct 4 last digits)" I verified my account on the web There was no evidence of fraudulent activity I called my bank s (Bk of A) customer service who assured me there was no abnormal activity on account .The bank service person called 800 214 7027 per my request and told me it was a scam number
