Got call and voicemail in Mandarin, same as previous reports. Thanks for all the posts -- going back to 2008!--calling it out as scam/phishing.

Reverse lookup shows DHL, however I have not ordered anything that would be shipped through them, today is a US holiday, and they left no message, just a few seconds of dead air. Numbers can be faked, my feeling is that this is a scam. At least my experience was.

This is a scam. The Monterey Park (California) Police Department has an active case going presently, to hopefully nab these crooks. And "crooks" is what they are. I've also spoken to some contacts in other law enforcement agencies. and they too are well aware of this scam. It's also "possibly" connected to the Chinese Consulate scam which has been targeting residents in the San Gabriel Calley area presently, which has a very large Chinese population. And this DHL scam is also targeting the San Gabriel Valley Chinese community as well. The DHL scam caller leaves a voice mail message in Mandarin, and it's the same voice as the Chinese Consulate scam caller voice mail message...
As always, let me remind visitors to this website, do not under "any" circumstances give any information of any kind to the caller....
The best thing to do is simply hang up!
I know these calls are seriously irritating. I've received a number of them myself, because I live in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles...
Thanks to the awesome folks at 800notes.com, we have a place to share information with others...
Thanks 800notes, you folks are awesome!
***In closing, let me make clear I'm not affiliated with or am I employed by the Monterey Park Police Department...
I'm a retired Captain from another law enforcement agency in Southern California..

Called and left a voicemail in Chinese!   I had similar scam calls and the number they spoofed was actually the Chinese Consulate number.  Now, they are using DHL.
I am not Chinese nor have a Chinese name.

It's fake.   Why would a multinational company like DHL only call in Mandarin, without an escape for English?  Or at least its corporate home language or German?

    Pfft.   Fake crap.

Caller left message in Chinese. Twice now. I called the number back, was in English and a Customer Service hold.
I hung up. Pretty fishy to me.  Never has a package arrived after I get these calls. Stranger, message is in Chinese.
