- Fritz| 2 repliesIt's FP&L, the same number I've used to pay my bill by phone for over 7 years. Not sure why they would call me. I pay on time every month. A lot of these posting on here are several years old, I don't think it's a scam, but I'll update when their office is opened tomorrow morning.

- RomiGot a call from this number claiming to be FPL and calling about unpaid charges. I told them the person they needed wasn't here. The call back number they gave me was 888-480-7634. When I googled this number, it's not a real FPL number.

- AlexThis is a scam call!!!! Not FPL! They call saying they were coming to disconnect your power in 45 minutes and tell you to call another 800 number and pay some amount to avoid it. Do not engage!

- LickerpoetScam caller. States that he is a FPL tech that is about to turn off your power due to non-payment. Never pay FPL to anyone except at the phone number on your bill or at an authorized FPL station or Western Union agent.
- Caller: FP & L
- MarthaI received a call from this number identifying themselves as the electric company and not FPL. They said the account was overdue by a few months and they were going to cut off service. I told them this was impossible as I have automatic payment set up. The person then hung up. I immediately called FPL as the call seemed fraudulent. They told me the account was fine and there were some ongoing scams. Be careful whenever giving any personal information over the phone.

- Izz| 1 replyJust got this call but it had no name on the caller ID. This is definitely FPL. I am moving to Florida in 1 month. 2 days ago I placed an order for service to begin at my new address. This was an automated call confirming the service location and start date.
- Caller: FPL
- Izz replies to IzzIt sounds like some scammers are spoofing the number as well. My call was legit though.
- annthis is a scam. scammers are using fpl's number to get info. confirmed with FBI. If you get a call from them and you know you don't owe any money then do not give out any info and call the FTC at 877-382-4357. I have received 5 calls already today. Told them they are scammers and they hung up.

- DEECEE replies to ming800-226-3545 is FPL Florida Power and Light. I left a comment on their web site in ref. to not being able to access their new program's pay your bill site! They left a message asking me to call back but my needs were not answered by any of their automatic questions. I hung up out of frustration. ........
- YvetteTGot a call from this number at our business. A man speaking Spanish with an Argentinian accent, claiming he was from FPL and that our power would be shut off in 5 minutes unless we called 855-794-2360 and paid our bill. Funny part is that we don't have FPL in Homestead! Total SCAM, it is not FPL don't fall for it. I googled the 855 number and a few people have gotten the same scam call and have fallen for it!! Beware!!
- JuanBe aware of unscrupulous SCAMMERS, taking advantage of the Hurricane IRMA victims. They are posing as Power Company (FPL. Duke Energy, OUC) representative telling you there is a crew out to cut your power in 45 minutes, unless you make payment.
They will state the auto-pay system was not updated and you have to pay now. They will not take DB/CR cards because it will take 24hrs to clear the system, so they want you to go to Dollar Tree or CVS and buy some kind of gift card (MoneyPak Express Pay) and give them the code.
Well, in our area after hurricane Irma w/ limited power and gas they want you to run around and find a store open. They said we owe for one bill (little less than $1,500) but they actually summed up all our bills totaling over $3,500 . They don't know your whole acct no. either. Connection had a lot of static. They even have 1-800 numbers for you to call back with what sounds like a legitimate menu of options! These are some of the numbers: 1-800-226-3545 and 1-844-762-2227; some names of the "reps" are Carlos Martinez / Claire Smith.
Please note NO POWER / UTILITY COMPANY TAKES GIFT CARDS as a method of payment!- Caller: FPL
