- Tim Shaffer - owner replies to Ellen| 2 repliesEllen,
Take the time to read my other post on this site. Your information is not accurate. Why would you admit to ignoring telephone calls??? Our telephone is answered as" Profit Services Group " or PSG can I help you?" We are regulated by Federal Law and must identify who we are talking to before we can discuss the reason for the call. Tammy did not say" Prize Services Guaranteed". She said Profit Services Group. You were told what and who you owed. You were not told that you owed " Memorial Hospital ". Call the hospital and call the police. When you do so be " very accurate ." I am growing tired of people like you trying to bash my company and cause problems . By the way. The BBB is a business. It has no power or legal enforcement powers. It is amazing to me that your first reaction is to try to cause problems instead of seeking a resolution to your obvious situation. If you would like to discuss and resolve your situation call me at 912-629-7500. - Tim Shaffer - owner replies to chris tatumChris,
Your information is not accurate. We do not work for any hospital. You were told exactly who you owed. Client name, amount and date of service. See my other post. How could you even think that the call was in reference to a hospital??? I am amazed constantly how people do not listen. On the other hand that is what has provided business for me over the last 30 years. Assuming information usually leads to one thing. The messages that are being left are " per Federal Law ". If a bill in fact has been paid direct to our client and we have not been advised then you "beef" is with them not us. - Tim Shaffer - owner replies to tommy| 7 repliesPlease give me a call at 912-629-7500. I will try to help you.
- Sammy B replies to Tim Shaffer - owner| 1 replyTim, I think it's interesting that you're spending so much time on this simple website attempting to rebuke everyone claims that your business is not what it claims to be. Don't you have better things to do like collecting people's money? I know that when people say these calls are a scam it means less money for you so I guess I understand.
- Sammy B| 1 replyYeah don't give this company any of your money. Just called them back to ask to get some sort of documentation or something in writing about my debt and was hung up on. Tim, you should train your people a bit better and maybe send out notices in the mail if you're really serious about getting people to give you money. I will not be giving you any money without documentation.
- Caller: Profit Services Group
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Agent Q replies to tommyWell fortunately, this is not a scam at all. For the benefit of the folks here having problems, I can say that I looked into this for someone who was having a similar problem. They were being called by PSG for a bill they never received or knew about. In this case the problem was that Memorial Health had billed the individual instead of the Workmans Compensation company for the use of a contracted service they provided. In this case, money was not owed by the individual at all but it was still under their name and in PSGs system so PSG was charged with getting payment as they are supposed to do. To complicate matters, PSG apparently did send documentation to the last known address but the individual had since moved. Why PSG could not track down a simple address change is anybody's guess. It would have been about a 3 or 4 minute process for me though. It would have only been fair but at the same time, they have hundreds or thousands of people on their register.
Tim Shaffer is absolutely correct in that his company represents Doctors Groups not the hospital itself. I have run into this before where a hospital will not be forthcoming with the full cost of a doctors visit because they do not include the costs of the contracted services provided. This is yet again another example of why healthcare needs to be reformed so very badly but that is for another time.
So, what you have to do is call the number Tim Shaffer provided. Ask whomever picks up what the charge is, who it is being charged by, and then have them send you the bill or go pick it up from them. At that time call the hospital or clinic you were at when the procedure that this bill is for took place and ask about the relationship between your clinic visit and the charge you are being billed for. Then ask if there was a mistake in the billing. I can see where a similar instance could have occured as in my instance except instead of your insurance company getting billed you, the individual, got billed instead.
Try that. If the hospital made another mistake as they did in the case of my client then I hope they are prepared for class action because they did a piss poor job of notifying anyone of a billing mistake. On top of that, the contracted services the hospital use were also not notified so they did the logical thing and just sent the unpaid bill onto collections. - Beth replies to Tim Shaffer - owner| 1 replyi got a call from this number saying i owe money....i didnt know how much so i asked the lady and she told me that it has to be turned in by fri. the first call i got was on the day before. she told me that i cannot blame the company if i was late...all i asked was the amount, the address, and how i can make the payment...so now i have a late fee and i cant get in contact with the company to see how much more i have to pay. i only have one way of payment....i thought this bill was payed months ago.....
- Jeff ford replies to tim Shaffer - owner| 1 replyThis message is to the owner if the company Jim.
I am just wondering why you have not replayed to any of the post about the rudeness of you employees? Also why you have not give an any reply to the people who have posted comments on here about your company having the wrong number, such as the woman's ten year old that you keep calling. I am sure he has a lot of debt!!! Even if he dose by law you can not call a person under the age of 18 with out legal consent you must contact the parents if the child.
One more thing.
As far as you saying that you will take legal action on the guy who called you a scam and to call the police. I am sorry sir but there is nothing you can do about this. This is a review site and anyone can write what ever they want to about their feelings on you company as long as it is within the guidelines of this site. I fortunately work for a company who can help you with this if you do not want further reviews like that beeing placed on sites like this one with out you first haveing a chance to talk to that person.
I totally understand that you deal with a lot of people who are just looking for a way out and I am sure it can be quite frustrating for you. I don't really see the point replying to people like this unless you are just doing it to get them to pay so that you get paid. Bad reviews can not hurt your company, if people chose not to pay they are still going to have it on their credit and was they relize they can't do anything in this world with out credit you will get your payment. Just a thought. I would love to hear what you have to say, thanks. - ATTEMT TO COLLECT| 1 replyTim Shaffer, I recently broke my ankle in April and have no insurance but have been paying on EVERY BILL I HAVE RECIEVED. I recieved a call in late July-the first call I EVER recieved -that I had to pay atleast 200.00 on debt or will be taken to court from charges which happened only 2 months before when I was diagnosed as totally disabled and had about 200.00 a week coming in and NEVER RECIEVED A BILL from the company that supposedly turned it over to collections because I filed for indigent care through Memorial which had nothing to do with this company because as you said,"you do not work for Memorial" so when I called the company that "automatically" turns it over to collections when I file indigent with Memorial that you are not affiliated with and who has NEVER SENT ME A BILL said I only owed 30.00. The kicker is somehow your company magically recieved debt from another company that I have been making payments to regularly and set up payment plan after accident first happened was on part of the debt your company was to collect. I called said company and they informed me they had not turned anything over to your company and that I had a payment plan with them and was making on-time regular payments as set up. Haven't got to the best part. All of this as you stated was from "Doctor Groups" well weird how a debt with a gym from 5 years ago is also included. So your telling me they requested your service as well? Or is it possible you looked at my credit report and bought the account? Or maybe your company saw it on my report and decided to add it on to a 30.00 charge that I never recieved a bill from? I am currently recieving bills from 4 different companies and have set up payment plans and have been making regular payments. Do you honestly think I wouldnt pay 30.00? And to confirm your company looked at my credit report to find what you thought was debt has already been paid-4 years ago but it ofcourse is still on report because anything on your report stays 7 years.
- LINDA WALKER replies to Tim Shaffer - owner| 4 repliesI DID TALK TO YOU ABOUT YOUR COMPANY OWING ME MONEY, YOU WERE TO SEND ME A CHECK FOR OVERPAYMENT AND MY MONEY ORDER THAT WAS OVERPAYMENT... HA, THAT MONEY ORDER WAS CASHED MONTHS AGO.. SOMEONE IN YOUR OFFICE GOT MY MONEY AND NOW I AM BEING IGNORED... THAT WAS 6 WEEKS AGO OR SO. NO CHECK AND NOW NO ONE THERE ANSWERS THE PHONE JUST A BUNCH OF RECORDINGS AND FILLED MAILBOXES. THIS IS VERY AGGRIVATING AND SOMETHING WEIRD IS GOING ON IN THIS OFFICE.
- LINDA WALKER replies to LINDA WALKER| 1 replyTHIS PROBLEM STARTED IN JULY AS THE MONEY ORDER I SPOKE OF WAS RECIEVED AUG 1 AND CASHED ON AUG 7 TH YET AFTER THAT DATE I GOT A CALL FROM MS MARTIN STATING SHE WAS SENDING ME MY OVERPAYMENT AND THE MONEY ORDER THAT SHE ALREADY CASHED ON AUG 7TH... FUNNY HUH..... LIED TO ME STRAITOUT LIED. IMAGINE THAT.
- tim shaffer replies to Not Lindsay| 1 replywe are not being rude to you. When you called our office we must identify you per Federal Law. It would be very easy for my staff to tell you everything about our company and why we were calling your telephone number but if you are not the correct party that we are trying to reach then we have violated " third party disclose law ". When you call us back you must at least tell us the correct nmber that you were called at and then and only then can we remove your telephone number from our system. If you would like to call back and ask for me and give me the number that is being called I will be happy to help you.
- Tim Shaffer replies to Not AshleyThis is not a scam. We are not being rude. We must however get the telephone number that is being called to stop future calls. Sometimes the definition of " rude" is the collector asking " what number was called "? See other post above and I think you will see a common thread. We do not want to call the wrong telephone numbers. We cannot however resolve the problem unless there is co-operation on both ends of the telephone line. If you will call me I will be glad to remove your telephone number.
- tim shaffer replies to LINDA WALKERLinda, nothing weird going on here. You and I have talked and your issue has been resolved. We spoke and I told you to track your money order to see that it was not cashed. You agreed that you would do so because you got the money order at the store that you work at each week. I also sent you a refund check as an act of good faith. Give me a call if you still need help.
- tim shaffer replies to LINDA WALKERYour money order was not cashed it was voided. She could not send it back to you because it could not be used again.
- tim shaffer replies to tommyGive me a call at 912-629-7500. I will try to help you. Sounds like you had a "crossed telephone circuit" call. This happens sometimes.
- tim shaffer replies to Jeff fordI do reply to the entries on this site. I am always concerned about any type comment - true or false. I know that this site is usually a " venting " place. My employees are not rude. They do however follow the FDCPA. This is many times viewed as rude because we have to identify who is calling before giving full disclosure of information. Give me a call at 912- 629-7500. I will be glad to discuss this with you.
- tim shaffer replies to ATTEMT TO COLLECTGive me a call and I will try to resolve your issues. If we called you then we would like to help you resolve the debt that has been listed with us for collections. We do not " buy" accounts. We do not look up information on the credit reports and randomly call someone. We work for more clients than just doctor group. We do represent a large Gym company in Savannah , Ga. You were probably making payments at one time to one of our clients " billing" companies. If you missed payments they would have turned the account over to us. Give me a call at 912-629-7500.
- ZZ replies to LINDA WALKERWhat is aggravating is people who use the CAP LOCK to type. Regular type is much easier to read and more pleasing to the eye.
- Tim Shaffer replies to Sammy BI believe that these issues should be addressed. This site is for the most part used y individuals that are looking for a place to vent . I am easy to reach at my office. I sit on the collection floor and take many calls myself each day. I am constantly amazed at how many people call me to complain about the collectors that are sitting within four feet of my desk. Especially when I just monitored the conversation. When I ask" How were they rude to you " ? they usually have no reply or it is something like " they told me that I had to pay the bill ". It all seems a bit crazy but I try to understand.
