- Joe Delinquent| 5 repliesSame here. The number belongs to Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, and is their delinquent loan number. If you're getting these, it's because you're behind on your student loans.
- Caller: Great Lakes
- Call type: Debt collector
- Joe Delinquent replies to Joe Delinquent| 1 replySorry - not necessarily you. It could be you have the recycled phone number of the person on the original promissory note. If that's the case, I'd suggest calling them and telling them, or pick up the phone when they call.
- JTH| 1 replyGot a call from them too, but they were looking for my neighbors kid.

- Matt| 1 replyI had student loans forgiven YEARS ago. Don't know why they'd call my cell,if that's who it is. I would think,if they wanted to call me,they'd have called the land line.
- A Smart Girl| 2 repliesNever have I ever taken out a loan from this so called "school." They keep calling and calling and changing their number to throw you off. Unless you legitimately have loans from this place ignore them! Do not give them any of your personal information, ie. address, bank account #, soc. security # etc.
Also I'm pretty sure Joe Delinquent is from this company. - oneinohI keep getting calls from this #, if in fact it is a LEGIT student loan delinquent company they need to leave a message (at very least) as to who they are and who it is they are trying to get in touch with. If they or anyone would ever ask for SS# or any other personal info. NEVER GIVE IT. Tell whoever it is, you will call the number listed on your loan papers to verify and to speak to someone. Same goes with any financial institution (Bank, Credit Card(s) etc.) I never answer any calls of numbers not recognized and/or that do not leave any message. I have had calls from other student loan places regarding one of my children who was late "they left a message of who they were and who they were trying to contact" HOWEVER The call was returned using the number the listed on "the loan information papers" to make sure it was legit. (Be very aware of emails of this type as well, NEVER REPLY(or even click on links) with any personnel info. CALL #'s listed on loans, cards, etc.)
