SORRY ABOUT THE TYPO  MEAN THEM, AND GUY THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SUED

Had a 2006 Trailblazer, made payment arrangements and car was repo'd anyway. The 2 repo men stated they were  "From the State of NJ" and I had to hand over my car. I explained that payment arrangements were made. I had the name and number of ther person in the CT office I had been working with. They stated they were the State investigators and I had to hand over my car. Technically I was one payment behind  and felt that even though I had made paymnet arrangements I had better do what they said. I should have called the police. Both men had been drinking and became threatening when I balked at giving over my car keys. My 10 year old was terrified and my husband was not home. I asked for a waiver and for the car to be surveyed. That was refused. I never signed off on anything. I spoke to GMAC the next day and they were unaware the vehicle had been repoed. It took 48hrs for GMAC to find the vehicle. I told GMAC it was my intent to raise the money and get vehicle back. I told them it would be 2 weeks to get the money together, but felt being honest was best. I also kept my insurance active on the vehicle. I asked GMAC where the vehicle was hosed so I could get personal items out of it. I was told they did have to tell me and they refused. I delt with GMAC with honesty and for that I was treated like garbage. Previously all payments on the Blazer were made on time and I even paid a year in advance last year. I delt with GMAC in good faith. The day before I made my payment I recieved a letter stating that the vehicle had been sold for 45,000. I could mail them the balance owed of 19,500.   GMAC has nevewr bothered to speak with myself or my husband since. Until today. Asset recovery from Fort Worth called and left a message with my mother who was babysitting from me to call. I returned call as soon as I got message and was given the run around. No one seemed to know why I was calling. I remained patient, kind and calm and was hung up on.    I may have been late with a few payments, but noone deserves this kind of treatment. GMAC has the nerve to ask for Governmnet help, but during the government hearings they never did tell Congress how unwilling they are to work with consumers and how they treat them.

Turned in a lease and after over a month received a notice of the excess miles and balance due.  Within days received multiple notices.  Tried calling the number on the notice for GMAC only to find out I should be calling another number which I can't get through.  Have been placed on hold and no answer.  Tried to file complaint with GMAC number on notice only to be placed on hold multiple times with no resolution.  Then today, Asset Recover group contact my husband's work demanding we set up a payment schedule for the balance due.  Unbelievable - totally fed up with GMAC and their Asset Recovery department.  Will avoid GMAC at all costs in the future.

I set up a payment schedule with GMAC and out of know where they never reported payments that i made to my account and when they sent it to collections i stilled owned the same amount i started with.  Are you kidding me i receive collection calls twice an hour all day long.  I have to pay a lawyer to help me with this nagging problem.  DO NOT GO THOUGH GMAC FOR NOTHING

I am currently suing Ally/GMAC because the same thing happened.  I entered an agreement, made the payments and then car was repossessed and no one could tell me why for 3 days.  They asked me "are you sure it wasnt stolen". I have hired a lawyer, Ally was served and they are still trying to contact me.  If anyone would like to share their horror stories with me please contact me at gabbie7474@gmail.com.  thank you

I had my car repoed by GMAC Asset Recovery for Ally Financial, I had my entire balance paid the same day. The representative I spoke with at GMAC said he recieved confirmation of our $3,000 payment and that he would be faxing the release form to the tow yard asap, that it would be there within 30 mins and that I could pick up my car. Well it's a day and a half later and the damn release form still hasn't been sent. Now their asset recovery department is supposedly closed for the weekend and no one in their entire building besides that department is smart enough to walk to a fax machine and send a release form. Now I am stuck with my car in the tow yard building up storage fees over the weekend when my car has been paid off. THIS IS CRIMINAL what this company is doing!!!

Ally is A LIE! They are wrongfully repossessing vehicles all over the country.
I suggest submitting a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

I had a lease car with GMAC and turned it in back in 2007 with a pre inspection and a 0 balance.  
Then i get this notice saying i owe almost $400
So, gmac does not exist anymore, and i call ally loans who does gmac, they never hear of this and i have no account open anymore.  
I dont know what kind of scam this is but everyone take notice of what i am saying here.

yesterday I received  a letter like the one you got.. it said I owe $1,482.00. my last lease was paid in full  in 2009.. I also called GMAC -Ally and the account # on the letter is non existant.  I also called the phone # on the letter and the man who answered was  very rude. I told him I planned to call the attorney general and he hung up on me..

Received a letter Dec. 3, 2014 about a vechicle  that my husband owed $4,013.28 and he died April 30, 2014
and he has not owed a car for several years.  When I called the above number on the letter they said it was  
a mistake that it was the wrong name.   I just got the feeling something is wrong with this GMAC  P.O.Box 380902

I received a letter from this so called company and immediately called the company I have my car loan through. I am not behind any payments and these people are stating I owe 5,152.00 or they will come pick up the car. There was even a reference No: and account number on the letter. The company my car is financed through told me to call the local police about this with all the information I have and they have it on file with the company  my car is financed through. When I tried to call these misfits I got a recording that I had won something. Then told me to hang up.

BEWARE THEY ARE ALSO CALLING FROM N.J. ARIZONA, TEXAS. THEY ARE ALL OVER LIKE FLYS.

I just got a letter Dec. 12 2014 from the same out fit. Has to be a scam because they mention other conversations with them. Never heard of them. Last lease ended in 2007 and I traded car in on new one.

received a gmac bill/letter also. Arrived Dec., 2014 from GMAC.  from a lease from 8 years ago! that was paid in full. What a scam. They said they had sent prior letters which of course there were none. So people be careful. Looks like the Pheonix, AZ address is a scam.

Rec'd the same, same type of situation, same info as above, same [***]!!! This is in central Indiana.

I just received the identical letter Dec 16th. Dated Dec 3rd, Posted Dec 8th, with a 10 day response requirement before reporting to a credit agency; it's a threat. It says they've attempted contacting me multiple times before now. This is the first correspondence, and it's on a vehicle we leased nearly a decade ago! Thank you for your posting on this.

If this is with Ally in any way it is likely to be a bad thing,  They repoed without any notice and did not leave any information.  We are still stuck with a balance.  Beware of Vandergriff Chevy too they add discounts onto the balance sheet instead of decreasing $ it increased.  They also set a price for a loaner vehicle as brand new what a DUO.
