This number was given to me by "an agent for SS". I was told that my SS number was associated with an auto theft in a different and some kind auto thing where there was a dead body. I really could not understand what he was saying, Federal officers are supposed to be here today. Hoax, yes? I have not left Houston since 2015.

This bakrichod scammer  sounds like he was given a script to read/record with a box over his head.

These knuckleheaded scammers don't have a clue how the real SSA works and they are hoping you don't either.
The SSA  doesn't suspend your ssn, file law suits, freeze accounts related to your SSN or issue Arrest Warrants.

Do Not give anyone your SSN!
    Or any personal information.

The current scheme is they say your SSN is involved with a rental car found in southern Texas, with blood & drugs. Next theres some address they say was raided and discovered several bank accounts used for laundering money under your SSN, so they have to freeze your bank accounts and issue you a new SSN, but you have to secure your accounts by getting some gift cards ......pretty bizare "off-the-wall" story, its so hard not to laugh at them.

    • Only a scammer would leave a message telling you "someone" is using your SSN for criminal activities, then try to say your in trouble for something you didn't do!
    • Only a scammer would say "legal enforcement actions".
    • Only a scammer is going to call you and demand you pay them over the phone to avoid an Arrest Warrant that doesn't really exist. You would first have to go to Court and disobey a Court Order to get an Arrest Warrant issued. If an Arrest Warrant was issued,  a Sheriff would suddenly show up at your door to serve it, they don't warn you they are coming and they don't put it on hold until you decide what to do.
    • Your SSN can't be canceled, revoked or suspended because it is a number assigned to your birth name for Identification purposes, only scammers say it can. It IS your Identity as much as your name is.
    • New SSN must be applied for with a misuse report on the old one and its FREE.
    • Only a scammer asks you to pay using Gift Cards.

Received a call from this telephone number. A partial message was caught by our answering machine. The verbiage instructed us to call a number in the (410) area code (which I will create a separate entry).

Called at 12:01pm today from 800-269-0271.  Normally I wouldn't bother answering, but was expecting another call.  Obvious scam call with a BS warning about SS taking me to court for some reason.  Unfortunately I didn't have a pen handy to write down the callback number to report to the FCC.

Received call from this number and voicemail partial message that I was to be taken to court for criminal charges. Searching the phone number revealed 2 names from 2 different states, NOT SSI. Message instructed me to call (804)859-8234. Searching that number revealed James T. Kessler of Norfolk, VA. Didn't call.

Partial message, definitely a recording and sounds like a mechanical voice...."intentional 2nd attempt to avoid an initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense. To contact investigation officer dial 8283489067.  Now if I not hear from you,  the only thing which I can do is wish good luck. "

Called our office this morning at around 9:40 am.  Voice activated response stated that if we did not call 804-859-8234 in reference to our fraudulent SS number that it would be turned over to a local "magistrate".  If we did not respond they could only wish us good luck.  Caller ID came up as US Gov.
