Asking for someone I don't know.  When I said "I'm sorry you have the wrong number" - she said, "so you don't know (said name) I said, "no" - who is this" and she hung up.  I can't stand RUDE PEOPLE.

Recieved three calls within the last 30 minutes. Won't answer it. This is riduculous.

automated call... told me it was personal in nature and please hold the line for the next available operator.  Waited less than one minute and then they disconnected.  I tried to get to a human to tell them to remove me from their calling list.  What will it take for this to stop?

They left a message with a telephone number, so I input the number to my Call Blocker.  The girl sounded reeeeeal stern so I was, um, scared...

Thank you. Ive been dealing with these idiots on a paid bill for $4.28 for over a year now. Sent countless letters...emaila etc. I will not speak to them again since all they do is argue demanding money. Fees n late charges are the only thing due which of course im not paying since the bill was paid. Having once worked for a collection agency...i do know their care of the truth is not there. They were shut down by the Feds, IRS iIRS raid 2 yrs ago. The owner is now in prison.Long list of charges.
I will add that if anyone gets a call from a collection agency make sure its a vaild company first. Also..if u tell them to remove your number and cease all communications...by law..they are not allowed to contact u again. If they do...report them. Also..ck w ur state laws on the times they r allowed to call you.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

This number is a scam.

keep calling for my son.  He has no debt owed to anyone.  except school loans, they communicate via mail not phone.  how did they get my number and how do we make them stop.  Said they were professional  bureau of collections, I called back to make sure it wasn;t for student loans since son is still in school.

We have been getting calls from the number, listed as GOVERNMENT Professional Bureau of Collections... and since we have no debt, I let them go.  Today though, on a whim, I called back, and three times was hung up on.  So, three strikes and you are OUT.

Student loan release company. I have blocked three numbers of this type of company so far. And they always call on a different number

This is kinda funny...

I was at an ASIS convention (super high security folk) and walking past one of the computer security booths when this call came in.

I could see by the guy's (in the booth) faces that they KNEW what the call was and one motioned to me to hand him the phone.  He put it on speaker and entertained an entire group of people.  It took the fellow online about 15 minutes to realize that they were pulling his leg.

For some reason... he became quite angry.  Darn!

Called looking for a relative.  Don't know how they got our number.  It was a collection call.  Explained that the relative lived in another state but would forward their name and number on to the relative via text.  Nice enough but forgot to ask why they called us!  I guess any port in the storm.....

They cuss and tell me that they are going forward with action against me block the number they will move on to someone else

Don't owe any bills-and wouldn't answer this call if I did! Let them think they're calling a legitimate debtor-I don't care. Correcting their records is NOT MY JOB. Anyway I blocked them!

I'm glad we all know what 'ASIS' is.
