Got a voicemail from "the fraud detection department" - no identification of my bank or the type of card in question.  The first time I called the number back, I was stuck in a loop:  "This is the fraud detection department, to continue in english, press 1, to continue in spanish press 2." Pressed 1.  "This is the fraud detection department, to continue in english, press 1, to continue in spanish press 2." This continued for 3 rounds and I hung up.  When I called back I got another message that wanted me to confirm my phone number, which I did.  It then asked me to confirm the last 4 numbers of my card, but I just hung up.  Unfortunately it is Sunday and my bank isn't open.  Interesting that it's Sunday morning when you can't get a hold of someone at your bank and want to protect your account.  I'm skeptical and will call my bank first thing Monday AM.

THIS IS A LEGITIMATE NUMBER!!  I received a call from this number soon after I made an online purchase.  I called my bank's 24-hour fraud line (Affinity Plus FCU) to verify the legitimacy of 800-272-9446.  They confirmed that my account reflected that fraud detection tried to contact me and the person transferred me over to an agent who helped me verify the purchase.

Strange how every time I read a post where they scream "THIS IS A LEGITIMATE NUMBER!!" in all caps, I cannot help but interpret it as "I AM A SHILL FOR THE SCAMMERS AND I AM ABOUT TO LIE TO YOU!!".
It is also strange that you classify the call as "Scam suspicion" when it is supposedly so legitimate.
    (Freudian slip much?)

Says the filthy, lying, smelly, criminal trying to convince people that this call is legitimate so that he can steal money from them.

Please don't blankly accuse someone of being illegitimate.  You have no evidence of that.  I reported exactly what happened and what I did.  And I followed up my post with some further explanations and advice for people to call their banks directly, as I did, just to be sure.  AND I classified it as "Scam suspicion" because that's what I though the number might have been: I suspected a scam, and I thought that was the best classification for the reporting given the options on the drop-down.  You do no one a service by making assumptions for which you have nothing to back you up.

First DTC says "It's Legit". Purely a shill post, no question.
Then DTC posts to itself about calling "...your bank's fraud detection department directly, instead of just calling this number back..."  That feels a lot like shill trying to gain some cred to me.
The main thing is to know is that calls from this number can't be trusted.

Plus, to add to your first point.  If it is such a legitimate number and they knew who had called them (as supposedly verified by their "bank"), why would they come to a phone number look-up site and search for a known number?  A normal person would not do that.
As to their follow up posts, to paraphrase the Bard - "The shill doth protest too much, methinks."

Say it, but I do believe they are spoofing the number. Because even though I looked up the number and it said it goes to a credit union I still only called the number on the back of my card and they checked out my accounts and there is absolutely no fraud alerts and they were really happy. I didn’t call that number back.
