- skbI picked up and spoke to the caller. English was obviously not his first language so, in light of the fact I couldn't understand him beyond *thinking* he said his name was "Paul" (didn't sound like a "Paul"), I told him to place my number on their "Do Not Call List".
- Caller: Bay Area something
- InksndrinksThis # has called twice. Bay Area is all they gave me for info. Trying to collect a bill for my son.
Very broken English. Both guys that called had middle eastern accents.
I don't have any unpaid medical bills for my kids so I refused and asked to be taken off their call list.
Send me mail or get nothing.- Caller: Bay Area crest
- Call type: Debt collector
- Scam debt collectorObvious scammers posing as debt collector. They purchase personal data in large amounts including phone number so they will have some legitimate info on you. They want you to pay off a fake bill in a hurry and will do anything to get you to pay. They seem Indian or south asian and obvious telemarketing scammers. They only wish they make as much money as Americans, they survive on scams how pathetic their sorry lives must be ha ha

- MaeCalled twice in one day first time I did not answer, second time I did they wanted to speak to some man I had never heard of. When I told them no one by that name was here and this was a work number and that I don’t want them calling again the man on the phone got angry/annoyed and informed me that his information was not incorrect. At that point I hung up and blocked the number.

- RangelThis guy (very broken English) wanted all my personal information before telling me the nature of the call. I told him No. I asked him 3 times to tell me the reason for his call...all he wanted to do was to verify my personal information first. I just had a credit card hacked last week. I am not comfortable giving this info out over the phone. he hung up on me...real professional if it is a debit collector. Which I have nothing on my credit report that is in collections anyway...very disturbing...I have blocked this number!
- Caller: Who Knows
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- MrsMiss replies to johnOh true? Because they call me AS MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. MY BALANCE IS ZERO but they claim I owe money! Hahaaaaaaaaa!!!!
- MrsMissGot a call today from this number (and have before, I have it blocked) & it comes up as "Capitol One" on my phone, saying I owe $$ on my credit card. I blocked them. I could barely understand him & it was a bad connection. Apparently he's still trying. I've never seen this name on my credit report so IT IS NOT A DEBT COLLECTOR. Just someone from another country trying to make a living by scamming us.
- Caller: Capitol One

- Bonnie replies to SherritaCalled, I didn’t answer no message
- JoWouldn’t accept that the person they called was not the person they got, kept trying to tell me I owed money for property in another state.
- Anonymous replies to SherritaA debt collector has to ask for the person who incurred the debt. If your son took a trip to the ER, then that's how they got his name. As the biological or parent of record, you have permission to speak on his behalf without any additional permission from him. By law, you will have to verify his full name, address, DOB, and depending on the carrier, the last 4 of his social. You may need to provide yours too.
Only after getting through the QA and MM plus the debt disclosure ($$), can you ask for an itemized statement of all accounts in the route and apply a verbal cease and desist to prevent further calls. Otherwise, they'll just keep calling until they reach you.
Some agencies aren't as scrupulous as mine.
Hope this helps.
