AT&T calling to inform of an upgrade to U-Verse tonight.

Called to confirm U-Verse appt.

This is at&t's customer support number (english) look on your bill. You don't have to answer the call you can dial the number back from your phone.

This is AT&T calling regarding work that is or was being done to your phone or internet service.
First call is seeing if anyone is home, or setting a time. Second call is IF they need to access your home to check lines. Third and final call is to see HOW the TECHNICIAN handled your problem. This one IS a pain as it's totally automated and you have to pick 1-5 for answers, no way to not agree with ONE of the options. (I KNOW, I just went through it last week!) Anyway, at the end of the call, it DOES allow you to leave comments (which I did). I didn't HAVE a problem with the Tech, it WAS the service and they didn't want to know about that, because they KNOW how bad it is!  It is NOT telemarketing! or 'just a phone survey'. I agree that they should all show AT&T rather than 'toll free call' (on some), but toll free's are from phones in their truck, so I accept that. And yes, SBC bought AT&T strictly for the NAME, but still operate under SBC also. (I asked them, because both names appear on different things -my computer says SBC, but phone bill says AT&T). I was given the option when they bought them out to keep everything in SBC or change it over to AT&T. Thought it meant IT would change the name on everything too, but it didn't! But yes, they ARE one and the same company. And NO, I don't LIKE them, but stuck with them until I move. So if you have a choice, go with someone else! My $54 monthly promised bill is now $100 monthly with NO changes...just 'increases' in their service charges and taxes!

Can you prove it? They all tell you they don't sell your information to outside companies. They hire so many people to sit by the phones and wait for someone to answer. Once you answer the phone that gives them more fuel (no pun intended) to keep calling.

So if they call your residence and you use their services, then you need to contact AT&T customer service and ask if they just called you regarding updating your account, a customer service survey, etc. But if for some reason they call your place of business and the company you work for doesn't use AT&T for internet, then i would be very concerned. Either way folks check things out, sitting here complaining that they keep calling you, you can put a stop to it.

i don't even have at&t, so why am i getting the call from them? I'm a call screener so i didn't answer, but they called my verizon phone.

I just got a call from this number from some Indian guy asking me if I needed any technical help with any of my PC's.. It's 11:30PM.. I told him "Why the fu*k are you calling me at 11:30pm? He said, "So you don't need any technical help with any of your computers, I'd be happy to help.  He never said he was from AT&T, he gave me some business name. I"m just now finding out it's at&t's number..

SBC bought out AT&T and then took on the AT&T name.

A caller from 1-205-201-7270 CLOUD & TIDWELL calls everyday and my line is new 4 the last 8wks +, holidays, weekends, and up to 9PM at night. It was relayed to C&T the party they be looking for does not live here but they call everyday.  Now noticed got a call today saying they are AT&T and call them at 1800-288-2020 because they received a call to have my password changed and they want to verify before changing it.  Then I get a call 2 minutes later the same call from 1205-201-7270.  Sounds like the bottom of the bowl to me.  I wish I could ring something on their end in the early morning on my days off.  Sort of like the chicken handlers! I have requested they stop calling me I am not the party they are looking for.  I do not owe anyone any thing politely but that does not work.  I have put these #s on the web to stop them from calling to no avail. Any suggestions out there?  Thank you for your reply.

This is getting old, I have received two calls from this number and both had a machine notifying me of some tech service appointment. One last week and one today. it said to go to some website to confirm info.  I think it's a scam.

Keep getting a call from this number saying we should call back about an important billing matter and to have a credit card ready to make a payment. We make all our payments on time and we've called back and told them this and they say "sorry, our mistake" and hang up....not sure what this is, but I'm not about to give my credit card number over the phone to anyone.

I recently had an automatic payment of 64 cents that showed up with the 800-288-2020 number on it.
It turned out to be legitimate.
I made a payment by check ( cuz I forgot I signed up for auto-payment ).
So they deducted the amount of the check and simply charged me for the difference ( 64 cents ).

Got a call on my cell phone from this number.  It was AT&T calling to see if I was interested in reconnecting my landline and DSL service.  I canceled both services from AT&T months ago and will never go back to that godawful service and told them that.  They proceeded to call me 3 more times begging.  Buffoons!

Have been in the office 3 hours and already had 3 calls from this number.  Pick up the phone and no one is there.  Very annoying

I've been getting repeated calls from 800-288-2020. It's always the same recorded message telling me the AT&T services I requested are being taken care of. I've never requested any AT&T services; I don't use AT&T for anything!

Just got a phonecall from this number, 800-288-2020.  I don't have AT&T service so am not sure why they called me and really don't care.

Caller ID read 800-288-2020 GTE.  Just an annoying sales call. I  have used AT&T for many years and never GTE.

Got a call from them, ignored it. Within the next 2 minutes they called again. I answered this time. Caller stated she was from AT&T and asked to speak to someone that I did not know, so I told her she had the wrong number. She apologized and hung up. Not sure if it was legit or if it was just a scam to see if mine was a working number.
