    Although this is AT&T Uverse's real number someone nefarious has been spoofing their 800-288-2020 number for quite some time. The spoofed version displays 'ATT' in the CID while the official number AT&T (with the '&'). Pay close attention to the name difference if you're called. Not sure if it's a debt collector, telemarketer, fundraising scam or some other fraud, but it's definitely a fraud and AT&T is aware of it. If you've opted out of Uverse telemarketing preferences, you will not receive a call from this number unless you've reported a problem or are adding new services. Block the number if you can. You can always call the reall AT&T to ask if they called once you see the blocked call.

    I received a call from this number, but didn't get a chance to answer it.
    It did notsay who was calling.  On my phone for ID it just said "unavailable."  I don't answer calls from someone who doesn't identify themself.

    I DID try setting up an online account with AT&T so I could pay my bill, however, what happened over 24 hours later is infuriating.  
    A robocall left me a message containing my online code about 8PM, I HAVE THAT NOW. Not long after, I got the exact same call again, along with several more, which I didn't answer. For the next three hours, until I finally disconnected my phone, I got pelted with at least seven more calls. By the time the third to the last one came, I had had more than enough so I tried calling the AT&T customer support line to see if I could get the calls stopped.
     That was a joke within itself and I got nobody other the ridiculous automation as the customer support line was closed. After two more calls, (well after business hours at 1039 and 1110 PM
    ) I disconnected my phone line so I'd be able to get some sleep.
     These jokers are going to hear about it from me within business hours. I'll most likely get some foreigner who'll know nothing about any of it, but harassing people after business hours with robocalls is punishable by law. I dearly regret trying to sign up for an online account, the required info came much later than the 10 minutes stating it would take to get the code.

    I'm sick of them calling me monthly to ask me if I have any problems and if everything including my email is working okay. So, I used my call screening option and am now blocking this number.

    Number called my cell phone, it rang twice then hung up. No message was left. Judging from the other comments its an number for AT&T, and I had paid my bill this morning. So its a little weird that they would be calling me unless something was wrong with my payment. But then again, why would my phone only ring twice and hang up. And you'd think they would leave a message if something was wrong.

    Got a call from them, left a voice mail about my U-Verse account. I don't have one; in fact I am not an AT&T customer for anything (Verizon for cell, no landline, internet through my cable company).

    I just got a call from this number and ignored it. They didn't leave a message.

    I came on this site and see that it is an AT&T number. I am an AT&T customer, so it may be legitimate. I have not made any changes to my account, and my payments are current, so I don't know why they would be calling me.

    A guy called "Brian" left a message to our company mailbox, but he said he's from ATSE (not AT&T) and it's about combining our bills. He asked me to call them personally to18779991085 and they will do it for us. I don't recognize the company, and we are in Canada, have no business with AT&T for sure.

    1) the legitimate phone company name is    A T & T  ... not  ATT !
    2) got a previous SPOOF call from   ATT 1-855-434-8341 ... notice the that the last 4 digits of this ID were left as a voice
       message !

    On my voice mail, I got a call from this number on Dec 22, 2014,  with the ID as ATT and it was legitimate - it was a recorded message telling me my payment was due that day. Hee, hee. Last month I waited until 10 pm on the last day, before paying my bill by telephone+credit card. And I did it again this month. I think they want their money a little sooner than 2 hours before midnight.

    Att calls 3-5 times per day 1-800-288-2020 on my cell phone
    That I owe $173.10 on my uverse acct.  uverse is not offered or available
    In our area.  You can't get a person to talk too.  They only leave mags that they need
    My uverse account.  The harrasment is stressful.  They are frauds and thieves.  Some how
    They got my cell phone number.

    If you were ever even a day late because THEY didn't post payment in time, you will receive"reminder calls". Just tell them one more call and you will cancel service. Tell them to put it in the notes NOW and flag it to the supervisor. Oh and tell them you will wait for them to finish. When they say they are done ask to talk to the supervisor and enjoy the scramble to do what you asked, because they never do it.

    Any Telco recording has a number assigned to it. This is not a valid code, but 2020 is an AT&T robo. The codes are designed to know which recording is being used, may be in trouble or need to be rerecorded. I've done hundreds of them.

    Use your cell call block or download whoscall it works. To break to robo loop keep pressing 0. You will eventually get a rep.
