The message informed me that I'd receive multiple shipments.  But the end of the message thanked me for buying from Bloomingdales, not Macy's.  The funny think is that we didn't buy anything from Bloomingdales, but we did buy stuff from Macy's.

I agree.  Sometimes my email is lost in my inbox and I would have been in a panic when i received a partial order.

I just received a messsage--it was so garbled I had no clue who it was.  I googled the phone number and saw the above.  Yes, I did place an order from Macys and also got the email saying it is in separate shipments.  Macys needs to get a handle on their automated service and at least make it understandable.

Just got that call too.  I wonder if when we ordered from Macy's they didn't sell our phone numbers that were associated with the order and it's a scam company calling.  The message was cut off and then they kept repeating for me to press 3 to repeat.  I didn't dare press anything!  Maybe some scammers hacked Macy's online ordering and stole numbers...

Oh, thanks for this information, I will answer now so they'll stop calling!  No caller ID so thought this was a spam call like so many others.  I did place an online order and it is being shipped in multiple shipments as 3 emails have already told me.  Really, Macy's should leave a message to say this instead of not leaving a message at all and then calling over and over without identifying themselves on Caller ID.  Annoying.

This call appears to be from Macy's. I ordered a couple items via the Internet and have already received emails informing me that I will be receiving more than one package. So a cell phone call is not necessary, especially since my cell phone number is to be used for business. Not helpful!

A call came in to me from this number Sunday morning. Googled the number and found this information helpful. I did order items from Macy's so when the second call came in I answered. The call is automated and provides an option to not receive these calls any longer by pressing #.

Just sounded like static, but I did order from Macy's so I'm sure it's what everyone else is saying.
It was helpful. I was a little concerned to get getting the same call (three times), so this site was useful.

I have never ordered from Macy's.  Caller ID said Macys.com. It was nothing but static noise when I picked up.

My call blocker picked this one out because it fits one of the profiles of a spam call: A toll free call or a call from my local area code that has the caller ID deliberately blocked.  My blocker does not discard any calls, it just prevents my home phones from ringing and routes the calls to a silent answering machine.  That way I will not miss any legitimate calls that might have been blocked in error.  Macy's did not leave a message when they had the opportunity.  I am going to send them an email stating that if they are going to hire the very telemarketers that are making people's lives miserable to send their messages, they have lost me as a customer.

    To pilot:

What is the name of the call blocker service or app that you use? It sounds really good and I would like to check it out.

    Lee,
I make it a hobby of battling spammers so I do more than the average person would want to do or spend, but I thoroughly enjoy it.  To do what I have done you have to be into building computer systems and willing to put some time into this.   I am running Asterisk PBX software on a PC that has an analog telephone interface card installed.  The Asterisk software is free (open source)and my interface card was $275, but you can buy an adequate card with fewer features for around $130.  Without getting into too much detail, the software allows you to to route calls on just about any condition or profile you can think of.  There seems to be a infinite numbers of ways to get even with spammers.  One I particularly like is to create IVR (Interactive Voice Response) programs in Asterisk and route the spammers to them.  If you want to see an example and get a few laughs go to www.itslenny.com.  There is a Canadian who created an IVR character named Lenny and he posted some recordings of the spammers talking to this computer personality.    Some are really hilarious.

I placed an on-line order with Macy's yesterday and Macy's is thanking me by calling me?????

I went into my Macy's account and changed all the phone numbers to 555-1212.  I get order status updates via email. Why in the world would they call?

Received a call at 9am on a Sunday morning. Didn't answer. No message. I also made an order with Macy's the previous day and was notified that it was going to be shipped in multiple orders. But they already notified me of that via email several times. Note to Macy's: The email was sufficient. If you're going to call, don't do it on a weekend morning.
