- C.K.Why do I need this call when what I ordered is a gift being sent to the bride and groom, and I already received two emails about the shipment. Overkill!
- Caller: Macy's
- ShamrockThanks for the info, I did order from Macys and received part of my order, the label stated I of 2 packages, so I was grateful for the information.
I respect that they do this, not everyone has email and it is a huge job to single people out, so Macys is actually practicing good customer service, I bet that before they implemented this policy, they were getting inundated with phone calls with customers who were worried when their order came and appeared to be incomplete.
They should however identify themselves on the caller ID and maybe ask customers on the ordering page, how they would like to be contacted if shipments are broken up limiting work for Macys and aggravation for consumers.- Caller: Macys
- Call type: Event reminder
- Shamrock replies to JESIf you read the "privacy" and "how we share your info", you would see that they do not sell numbers. This is a service that Macys has informing of multiple shipping, I guess they cover all the bases.
- RobertLook folks, this is nowhere near as bad as the repeated calls from 'Card Services'. This was a legit one-time call about an order that I indeed placed with Macy's, and it did leave the message with my answering machine.

- bDitto…useless. No msg left.
Macy's needs to get with the times.- Caller: Toll Free Caller 800-289-6229 (Macy's)

- Marie replies to DukeI absolutely agree.
- CustomerThey send an email so the calls are redundant, irrelevant and annoying.

- BJ replies to DukeI agree. I got two calls of this type today. I am annoyed as well and am calling their 800 number. Notification on line is enough. I don't need an auto call repeating the same thing. Fed up with all the scammer and unnecessary calls every day~
- bcnc8:59 am Saturday July 4th automated call about my Macy's order -- Which I already knew about from e-mail. I appreciate customer service. Not so much on a summer holiday

- MoWhile l agree that this is overkill b/c l already got an email order confirmation from Macy's, at least this is a legitimate call. It's better than all the multiple scam and junk calls l get daily!
- EstaQMACYS!!! Giving me recorded message about my orders arriving in multiple packages.
Good Lord, they just sent me several (like, seven) emails all pertaining to the same order: order received!, might be shipped in two parts!, part of your order has shipped!, the other part of your order will come next!, we shipped your other part of your order!, we're so happy about your order!, etc, etc, yada, yada. Well, maybe it's keeping somebody employed.
IT WOULD REALLY BE NICE IF A MAJOR CORPORATION LIKE MACY'S COULD REVEAL ON THE CALLER ID THAT THEY ARE, IN FACT, MACY'S!!!! I might have answered it.- Caller: MACY'S
- CathyAutomated call telling me my order would ship in two segments. I did not order anything from Macys.
- Caller: Macys
- Pip| 1 replyMacy's left a message saying my order would come in separate shipments. I don't mind this type of message: I don't answer numbers I don't recognize; if I'm busy (or asleep) I let the call go to voicemail for a while; and they actually LEFT a message...so OK.
- Caller: 800 Service
- Call type: Event reminder
- Pip replies to PipHave to agree with Shamrock and EstaQ that it would help if the caller ID said MACY's...
well, enjoy their parade, and have a good day of Thanksgiving.....! - Chuck DRceived call that my on-line order is being shipped. Never placed an on-line order.
- Caller: Macy's (alledgedly)
- hkslocum| 1 replyI'm worried that it is not Macy's at all, but someone who would like to know the details of your purchase or some other personal information. If you call back the 800 number, does anyone ask for details of the purchase so they can "help" you?
- Shamrock replies to hkslocumNo, there is no reason really to call back. The message is usually just informative to let you know order not coming all at once. So far it has been OK, if anything changes and it does become a suspicious call, I will post and let you know, but so far so good.
- grannybThis number called but when I answered no one was there. I really appreciate this website at times like this. I did order multiple items from Macy's and they are arriving in separate shipments, so that must be what this call was about. I already knew that from email, so what an unnecessary annoyance!!!!! Thank you, fellow posters, for solving the mystery of this call.
- LynnThey've called me 3 times today. I do have an order in process at Macy's. I never answer 800 number calls without doing a phone number lookup, so thanks to all of you who posted that it was Macy's. It's a shame that so many of us won't answer a legitimate 800 number call because we've been burned so many times by telemarketers. The toll free number system has been abused and ruined by those scum.
