Received a “this is an attempt to collect a debt” message from “Melissa” at this number. Called back, the operator asked what number they had called, then wanted to know my name. I said “I don’t want to tell you my name, what is the reason for your call?” She said she couldn’t find any account with my number on it so I said “Good, don’t call me anymore.”

I have been receiving the same exact calls multiple times a day for several days now with the same message left. However, the caller ID on my phone says “Scam Alert”, rings twice and goes to voicemail.

Man with thick accent said that he needs my address, birthday, and social security number to tell me what matter is about. I work with first part credit card collections and we only need the person to verify their first and last name, only ask people to verify last FOUR of their social when they claim fraud. He was threatening, a bully, and unprofessional. If you have any experiences speak with medical collections, like I do, they don't ask all of this. I had no new collections motifs on my credit report, but he said this has been negatively affecting my credit and if I want to know what it is, I have to give him the info. Then he rebuttals saying that if I didn't want to know then what is the point of me trying to get in touch with them and calling them all if these times. This was the first time I called them.

Called twice, asked for me by my divorced name. I have recently had a credit report run, so I know I am clean. The caller indicated that they were calling about unresolved debt. Scam, scam, scam..

I believe my bank sold my information to them after my account was resolved. And, I, accidentally, found out this information via my bank! I just blocked this number after telling them about my conversation with my bank!!

Why would you think your bank sold your information? What information did you "accidentally" learn from your bank that led you to that conclusion?

They called and left a 4 second message of breathing. Probably another false collection agency trying to collect debt that doesn't exist.

Voice message left on my cell, because it was collections I called back, spoke to a rep and asked why they called, I don't owe anyone. Rep was looking for someone not associated with my #, rep said would remove my name from their system.

Debt collector. This guy called regarding an unpaid hospital bill. I explained that I was covered at the time and that I was going to send him proof and he just said that I had rudly interrupted him and call me disrespectful. He kept going and going lecturing about education, really unnecesary. If you are a debt collector you don't want intimidate people or insult them, you want to try to make it easier for them to talk to you and solve the debt issue. This caller should look for another job really, maybe work in a jail or something were verbal abuse is allowed!
